With a 9-5 loss on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians, the New York Yankees lost their third game in a row. Moreover, as the playoff race was extremely tight, the fans were concerned with the team’s lost form. However, the offense witnessed a massive surge on Wednesday.

The New York Yankees power duo Aaron Judge and Juan Soto exploded on the plate to record historic hits whereas starting pitcher Nestor Cortes also pitched a career best start to completely thrash the Guardians out of the contest and accordingly fetch a 1-1 tie in the three-game series.

The New York Yankees dominated Cleveland Guardians with sheer offensive power on Wednesday to grab an 8-1 massive victory. The stars of the night were none other than the power duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Soto got the ball rolling in the first inning when he slammed a two-run bomb to score his career-high 36th season home run. Meanwhile, Aaron Judge fed on the momentum of his teammate to launch another two-run homer in the third inning before hitting a solo shot in the seventh inning to add insurance runs to the Yanks lead. That marked Judge’s 47th home run of the season, and now he is on the pace to hit 60 home runs by the end of the year.

Having said that, New York Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes ensured that Aaron Judge and Juan Soto’s heroics were not wasted. He pitched a seven-inning scoreless start to become the first Yankee since Ron Guidry to pitch seven shutout innings with no walks in back-to-back starts. With the epic victory, the Bronx Bombers snapped out of their three-game losing streak and retained the sole possession of the AL-East division’s first place. Needless to say, the resurgence was the need of the hour, given the pressure the losing streak had piled up. Judge and Soto’s offensive barrel will surely take some pressure off the rookies and relatively inexperienced major leaguers in the Yankee lineup. However, to ensure a deep postseason run, the entire lineup will have to step up over time. It’s no longer a two-man job, and the sooner the Yanks realize this, the better.

New York Yankees’ generational star Juan Soto has been on a rampage lately. In the past four games, he hit as many as seven homes, including his career first three-homer game against the Chicago White Sox. Moreover, on Wednesday, Soto went yard again to bring up his career-high 36th-season home run.

With six home runs in a four-game span, Juan Soto became the sixth Yankee to achieve this feat in Yankees history after the likes of Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. Soto, who was traded off the Padres this off-season, is rewriting the franchise history books in just one season. And this hot form will only help his 2025 free agency rendezvous.
