Sir Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari next year, and the fans can’t wait any longer to see it. It is a special moment as the most successful racer joins the most successful team. Legends of the sport had driven for the iconic Italian team. But arguably, the biggest legend of the sport of all time is the great British racer. He is the only racer to win more than 100 Grands Prix. Records speak volumes of the greatness of the seven-time champion. However, the Mercedes superstar is not the only racer to win seven Driver’s World Championships.

The first one to do it was the German legend Michael Schumacher. He is still the most successful Ferrari racer in the history of F1 Motorsport. Schumacher and Ferrari even had the best team-driver partnership record in F1’s history until Mercedes-Hamilton surpassed them. Lewis Hamilton won six championships with Mercedes, and he helped the German team win eight constructor titles in a row. But as every good thing comes to an end at some point, the Mercedes era ended in 2021. For the last two years, Hamilton has been trying his best to win a race with the Mercedes car. But he could not do it. Now, who knows what the future holds for Hamilton with Ferrari? Lately, Ferrari’s President discussed Hamilton’s move.

Recently, in an interview with Sky, John Elkann spoke about why he thinks Hamilton decided to join forces in 2025. The Ferrari president said he always spoke about the greatness of Lewis Hamilton and what he has done for the sport. Since Hamilton is joining Ferrari, Elkann believes it shows how much the seven-time champion feels that he can do great things with the iconic team. In 2024, Oliver Bearman became the latest English racer to represent Ferrari. The young Briton replaced the unwell Carlos Sainz Jr.

Later, in Jeddah, Bearman even managed to earn a point, as he was really impressive. Hamilton was really happy for Bearman. Later, the seven-time champion embraced the young Ferrari racer. Elkann mentioned that Lewis Hamilton proved that he is truly a great champion on and off the track, as he wanted to give Bearman a hug. Moreover, Elkann said the important thing is to keep improving and focus on progress. The President said people should praise and support this dynamic that exists in his team.

The President added that Leclerc got the fastest lap and the youngest Ferrari driver in history scored points right away. Later, Sainz joined the team in Jeddah after being operated on. Elkann said that showed team spirit. The President said he was proud and wanted to thank everyone who helped the team in obtaining this really essential result.

Moreover, Elkann spoke about the new 2026 regulations that might give Ferrari an opportunity to end their title drought since 2007. The President mentioned that it is just a cycle that will close and another will open. But what the Ferrari president cares more about is keeping the competitive spirit alive and continue fueling it.
