Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton

The Mercedes team Chief, Toto Wolff, sounded very optimistic about the new agreement between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. Albeit nothing has been finalized yet, it looks like there is going to be a multi-year deal signed during winter this year. The Team Principal of the Silver Arrows strongly suggested that the team will handle the case of the contract extension of their number one racer “over the winter, but there is no firm deadline.”

Toto Wolff had only nice things to say at the “Beyond The Grid” podcast about Hamilton when asked about how Lewis Hamilton is holding up since the title drought for two years. He said, “the biggest plus point about Hamilton is that he always feels hungry and eager for success. As a sportsman, he is great and one of the most driven and determined athletes ever.” Mr. Wolffe added, “can’t think of a reason not to extend as Hamilton and the Silver Arrows team are part of each other.”

Lewis Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013 and made an absolute fortune. The Champ has come a long way to be at the peak of F1 Motorsport. With 103 wins, he is the most successful racer in history. He is a joint most number of titles winner with the legend Michael Schumacher with seven titles.

The Briton is looking for the record eighth title that would separate him from the rest, and he would become the ultimate F1 racer champion. With Lewis Hamilton’s success, Mercedes has maintained their dominance over Red Bull, Maclaren, and Ferrari. It would be a pity if this epic partnership that has lasted for almost a decade now does not get extended for a few more years or perhaps have to part ways.

From the F1 motorsport fan world to the media panel experts, all are keen to know about the contract extension between the Silver Arrows and the Champ.

Lewis Hamilton Reveals His Views On Retirement

There are also speculations about a possible retirement call from Hamilton, as he is 38. Presently he is the second oldest racer in F1 Motorsport after Fernando Alonso. Regarding retirement, Hamilton expressed his current thought. As per that, “every athlete dreams of retiring as the world champion, and I have the same dream.” This statement proves that, like the fans, Lewis Hamilton, too, wishes to continue to go that distance one more time. Only time will tell if he manages to do that.

All these speculations regarding his retirement were triggered by his interview with the German newspaper Sport Bild. Lewis Hamilton mentioned, “there is few more important things than Motorsport to me. Sometimes after I wake up, I feel like I don’t wanna do this anymore.”

But most importantly, he is not planning to retire anytime soon. Rather looking forward to fulfilling the dream to quit being the ultimate world champion.
