Toto Wolff Happy With Upgraded Mercedes’ W14 Aerodynamics For The Upcoming Race! Explains The Tricky Miami Circuit

Toto Wolff, the Mercedes principal, probably lost his sleep dreaming of a good day for Mercedes since 2022. However, finally, he got a reason for excitement. The MIAMI weekend is knocking on the doors, and Mercedes is preparing for a grand welcome with their latest upgrade. The W14 won’t behave the same in the Miami International Autodrome, as it comes with upgraded aerodynamics and a new suspension. The Brackley team hopes to end their backfoot drive in the shadow of Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Ferrari with the MAJOR upgrade ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton finished sixth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, while George Russell managed to clinch a P8. This was the least finish of the seven-time world champion in 2023, simply disappointed once again. However, he is hoping to finally become challenging for the British team Aston Martin. No, Red Bull is not even the target, both Wolff and Hamilton admitted. The boss does not want to give fake hope to fans anymore. He said, “I am trying to manage their expectations.”

Nevertheless, Toto Wolff could not hide his excitement over the fact that last year it was an “incredible buzz” in Miami. Despite being the third team, 47 points behind Ferrari last year in Miami, Mercedes was happy to see some of the American celebrities and superstar athletes in the paddock. Through the official website of the Mercedes F1 team, Wolff admitted, “The Miami International Autodrome is a very different beast compared to the last few races.”

Wolff explains that in Miami, “there is the real mix of corners, there are high-speed sections, long straights. However, there are tight and twisty areas too.” Besides, the Austrian boss remained enthusiastic about the off-track events that may take place in the Southeastern region of the United States. The Mercedes Boss suggested that it will be a very busy weekend with several off-track activities and events for Mercedes and our partners.

Speaking of last year, Toto Wolff expressed what an incredible buzz it was. He hopes the same for this year, too, as he states, “Without a doubt, 2023 will be another spectacular event in Miami.”

Elsewhere, the Mercedes boss remains confident about the stay of his favorite driver, Lewis Hamilton. The Austrian is expecting to see the seven-time world champion breaking Schumacher’s record in 2024. Amid the rumors about Hamilton’s loyalty toward Mercedes, Wolff clarified that he is 100% sure about the driver’s stay. For the Briton, he said, “We are 100 percent committed to putting pen to paper with Hamilton.” And if in case anyone is thinking anything about the Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, please don’t. Because Toto Wolff is not planning on him. For Leclerc, the Mercedes CEO said, “He too is 100% committed and loyal to his team, Scuderia Ferrari.”
