The New York Yankees have a storied history, marked by 27 World Series championships and a legacy of excellence. However, the recent seasons have seen the team struggle to cross the finish line. After losing in the ALCS in 2022, the team hit rock bottom in 2023 by crashing out of the playoffs for the first time in seven years.

More importantly, the Houston Astros, the rivals who knocked out the Yankees during the 2022 ALCS, have made successive ALCS appearances twice in a row. Thus, the Yankee fans are not amused by this, and a radio host named Keith McPherson considers it a big embarrassment. He recently ranted during one of the WFAN radio shows.

The 2023 MLB season was cruel for the New York Yankees and its passionate fan base. The team witnessed the lowest moments during the entirety of the regular season. However, the pain just seems never-ending even as the postseason has commenced. Keith McPherson of WFAN Radio says that the Yanks have become a laughingstock around MLB. The team, who once dreaded playing in the Bronx, now has the confidence to win against them, that too comfortably. That is something that McPherson labels as an absolute embarrassment. “I feel like we’re getting embarrassed. It’s our worst nightmare,” said McPherson.

Furthermore, the radio host’s frustration also emerges from the fact that a lot of players who are currently dominating in the postseason once stood a chance of representing the Yankees. Players like Bryce Harper and Jordan Montgomery have remained highly impressive throughout the playoffs, which has got the fans thinking that had the front office done a better job, the same players could have produced wonders in pinstripes. Additionally, the Astros making back-to-back ALCS appearances adds fuel to the fire. Thus, all things collectively have led to intense frustration for Keith McPherson, who hates to see his beloved team getting kicked in the teeth. Having said that, the Yankees are in a unique position to redefine their narrative and rebuild the foundation of success. The pressure is on for the team to return to the playoffs and rekindle their championship aspirations in 2024.

Yanks Might Seek Reunion With Jordan Montgomery!

Ex-Yankee pitcher Jordan Montgomery led his team, Texas Rangers, to an inspiring ALCS win against defending champions, Houston Astros. He made two starts and posted an ERA of 1.29 with ten strikeouts across 14 innings pitched. Thus, considering Montgomery’s resurgence, the Yankees are tempted to have him back in the Bronx. As per rumors, the Bombers plan on going after Montgomery this coming off-season.

To those unversed, Jordan Montgomery served in pinstripes for six long seasons before the Yankees traded him to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2022. He went on to excel from thereon and found a new life. Having said that, while the Yanks remain keen on a reunion with the pitcher, it’s unclear if Montgomery would be willing to don the pinstripes again. He is a free agent in 2024, and after the ALCS heroics, his market value might shoot up significantly.
