Clearly, the Los Angeles Lakers are in turmoil. After a rocky start of the season, the purple and gold picked up the pieces and won 5 consecutive games. However, that proved insufficient as the club’s position in the Western Conference points table is stationary. On top of that, the playoff berth is far from reach, and the team desperately wants to turn things around.

One of the primary reasons for the team’s debacle is the lack of quality players on the court. The Lakers prime center forward, Anthony Davis, injured his foot in December and has not set foot on the court ever since. Besides, Lonnie Walker IV is sitting on the bench, too, due to a sore ankle. Hence, the fans are hoping for a few fresh faces in the trade window. However, Adrian has another disappointing news for the fans.

Adrian Wojnarowski Expects LA To Stay Inactive During The Trade Window

LeBron James & Russell Westbrook

The rumors are rife around the Lakers camp as the fans are expecting big changes in the lineup. However, ESPN reporter, Adrian Wojnarowski, believes otherwise. According to Adrian, there won’t be any big deals happening for the Lakers before the trade deadline ends. He feels the club won’t be much active and will not try and improve the team for this season, to say the least. The deadline is supposed to end on February 9, which is approximately two weeks from now.

Meanwhile, trade rumors have stayed afloat for a while now. The most active name is Russell Westbrook. He had a terrible season until now. In the past few games, Westbrook has been averaging 23 points and 7.7 rebounds. Hence, the Lakers are unlikely to leave him out mid-season. Moreover, LeBron James has a special connection with Russell. Thus, his influence also plays a big part and works in favor of Westbrook.

“I don’t think there’s any ‘big big’ deals for the Lakers out there,” said Adrian Wojnarowski.

Lakers Reportedly Eyeing Cam Reddish For The Trade

Cam Reddish has stayed out of the New York Knicks lineup for two months now. Hence, he could be made available for the trade. Cam has had good numbers and is young. Hence, Reddish would be a good addition to the lineup. Moreover, Lonnie Walker and Kendrick Nunn are the two players who could make way for Cam Reddish.

However, more than sign-ins, what the Lakers really need is to get the injured players back on the court. Anthony Davis reportedly has recovered and participated in training sessions. However, his exact return date is yet to be determined. AD’s addition to the team is vital, as he played at an MVP level before suffering from a stress fracture. On top of that, his partner and the Lakers superstar, LeBron James, is stranded on the other end carrying the team alone on his shoulders.
