The current Designated Hitter of the Yankees was the most sought-after slugger back in 2017. He was an MVP. In 2017, Giancarlo Stanton used to play for the Miami Marlins. He hit an incredible 59 home runs that year. Hence, there was no doubt about him getting the National League Most Valued Player award that year. But unfortunately for the Marlins, they were unable to build a championship-winning team around the 2017 NL MVP. Later, in December of his MVP-winning year, the Marlins traded him to the Yankees. Moreover, Brian Cashman realized that Stanton was the missing link in their offence. Hence, the Yankees traded some future prospects along with some cash for the 2017 NL MVP. And Judge was quick to respond saying, “Whatever, I’ll DH or even play left.” Finally, as the saying goes, “The rest is history.” The Yankees managed to build an offensive lineup that gave them a new nickname called ‘Bronx Bombers 3.0.’
