Ever since Aaron Judge hit 62 home runs in 2022, the fans of the New York Yankees wonder if he can lead the side to their 28th World Championship. The Bronx Bombers made him their new captain, succeeding Derek Jeter, in 2022. That same year, he won the American League MVP. Fans in the Bronx hope that under his leadership, the NY side might be able to end their title drought that started in 2010. The last time the Bombers won the World Series or even made it to that stage was in 2009. Since then, they have never even made it to the “Big Dance.”

But the Yankees have faith in Aaron Judge. Who knows if the NY side end up winning the World Series this year? They look good offensively as well as defensively. Moreover, the three big power hitters on the team – Judge, Juan Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton- look in good form. Lately, the book, ‘Inside the Empire – The True Power Behind The New York Yankees’ revealed how important the role Judge played in the franchise signing Stanton.

The current Designated Hitter of the Yankees was the most sought-after slugger back in 2017. He was an MVP. In 2017, Giancarlo Stanton used to play for the Miami Marlins. He hit an incredible 59 home runs that year. Hence, there was no doubt about him getting the National League Most Valued Player award that year. But unfortunately for the Marlins, they were unable to build a championship-winning team around the 2017 NL MVP. Later, in December of his MVP-winning year, the Marlins traded him to the Yankees. Moreover, Brian Cashman realized that Stanton was the missing link in their offence. Hence, the Yankees traded some future prospects along with some cash for the 2017 NL MVP. But prior to confirming the addition of Stanton, Cashman tried to take some suggestions from Aaron Judge.

The book, ‘Inside the Empire’ revealed how the conversation went between Judge and the general manager. Aaron Judge was sweet-natured and selfless as he readily agreed to the signing as he mentioned, “Wow, that’s really incredible! What are you guys waiting for?” In reply, Brian Cashman said that it could affect his time in the right field. And Judge was quick to respond saying, “Whatever, I’ll DH or even play left.” Finally, as the saying goes, “The rest is history.” The Yankees managed to build an offensive lineup that gave them a new nickname called ‘Bronx Bombers 3.0.’

Page number seventeen of ‘Inside the Empire – The True Power Behind The New York Yankees’ reads that it seldom happens that a GM would ask his star player prior to him pulling the trigger on a trade. On top of that, in this case the star was someone who just finished his rookie season.

Moreover, that same page of the book reads that Aaron Judge has always been selfless and sweet-natured. On top of that, he has been a franchise talent who had the character of becoming an outstanding leader. And for sure, he had the shoulders to carry a whole franchise. As a result, Judge became the face of the franchise since then.
