Left-handed starting pitcher Carlos Rodon’s 6.85 ERA debut season with the New York Yankees is history, as the veteran has bounced back remarkably well in the second year. Rodon stayed healthy coming into spring this year in a much leaner and rejuvenated avatar.

And his performance on the mound was equally different from 2023 season. Carlos Rodon’s stuff was on point. He is currently riding on a remarkable winning streak which made Yankees manager Aaron Boone stand up and take notice of his heroics. Boone revealed how Rodon is scripting a different narrative for himself this year.

The New York Yankees took home another series win after attaining a 9-5 victory against the Minnesota Twins in Game 2 on Wednesday. Carlos Rodon pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with zero walks. Rodon struck out 9 hitters and retired a total of 14 Twins batters as he walked off to a standing ovation from the home crowd in the Bronx. It was a moment of redemption for Rodon, who clocked his sixth starting win in the past seven starts. It’s the same Carlos Rodon who was booed relentlessly for posing a 6.85 ERA in 14 starts. However, the left-hander does not have any regrets besides the disrespect he showed to coach Matt Blake in September. Regardless, the abysmal season helped Rodon get more hungrier coming into the off-season.

“I want to perform well for for my teammates. I don’t want to let my teammates down,” Rodon said after Wednesday’s win. On the other hand, Yankees manager Aaron Boone also heaped praise on Rodon, saying how he is changing the negative narrative around him by scripting his own story. “He could always change the narrative. He could always write the final story,” the skipper said. Boone added that sports is about overcoming challenges on most days, and Rodon was put to a difficult test in 2023. But this year, his mindset is much more positive because of the work he’s put into becoming successful. The manager further credited Rodon for his work ethic and for using every ounce of his potential to come back much stronger and better in 2024. With another series victory, the Yanks get stronger in AL-East with a 44-19 record.

The New York Yankees red-hot offense once again ignited its spark against the Twins on Wednesday. Aaron Judge’s 5 RBI night, coupled with Gleyber Torres’ 2 RBIs, ensured the Yanks finished with a 9-run night while Carlos Rodon did his thing right on the mound to restrict the Twins hitters.

“The boys scoring runs like that makes it a lot easier,” said Carlos Rodon after the 9-5 win against the Twins. It was a clinical victory for the New York Yankees, and interestingly, in the nine-run night, no hitter scored a home run. It was just pure baseball that lifted the Yanks to a sensational series victory at home for the umpteenth time.
