Red Bull Max Verstappen has downright dominated the 2022 Formula One season. Meanwhile, his teammate Sergio Perez is also having a decent season as he has maintained the second position in the Championship. But Sergio feels that Latin American drivers are not given the respect they deserve in Formula One.
Sergio Perez Claims People Don\’t Take Him Seriously!
Sergio Perez thinks that Latin drivers get more flak than drivers from other continents to do. Checo argues that Latin American drivers are occasionally not given significant consideration. The Mexican claims that because of this, he is more likely to get criticism than Europeans.
After a fairly underwhelming showing in 2022, Perez was under pressure for a while. The Mexican driver had some difficult times as the summer break drew near. After the break, he experienced a number of challenging races before taking the Singapore Grand Prix. To secure Max Verstappen\’s victory, he was able to win in Singapore once again. He also finished second in Japan, which was a fantastic performance. Sergio Perez thinks that as a result, when circumstances are less favorable, people are more critical of him.
The racer claimed that he occasionally felt that he wasn\’t taken seriously in a conversation with the media. People occasionally remark things like, \”Well, he\’s just a Mexican, he\’s lazy, his culture,\” and similar statements. Because he was Mexican, they assumed he wouldn\’t be able to compete with the world\’s finest drivers.
For Perez, though, 2022 will be a crucial year. Together with Verstappen, he may win the constructors\’ world championship for Red Bull Racing in America. It will be followed by his home race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez. In order to fully silence his opponents, Sergio Perez will be eager to succeed and pursue his third victory of the year.
Checo Deletes His Tweet!
This week, Sergio Perez was forced to remove an unpleasant social media video since Red Bull has not yet received the FIA\’s penalty for exceeding the budget restriction last season. The anticipated sponsorship message could not have come at a worse moment since money and food are currently two of the squad\’s most contentious issues. According to Red Bull chief Christian Horner, the final amount was beyond the limit owing to a disagreement in interpretation. And expenses for catering and sick leave were two of the main causes.
Ironically, the promotional video featured Sergio Perez and the team\’s other members laughing and smiling as they finally paid for a deluxe lunch at a restaurant. Perez removed the video. But many others on social media preserved the evidence and noted how embarrassing it was considering the circumstances at the time.
