Los Angeles Lakers are much more than any ordinary NBA side. For the fans, it feels more like an engaging reality tv show. Thus, fans are always interested in the inside news of the side. Previously there were rumors of some sort of beef between Russell Westbrook and LeBron James. However, recent reports indicate that Russell Westbrook will be joining the exclusive mini-training camp that Lebron James organizes every year.

LeBron James And Russell Westbrook To Attend Lakers Minicamp Together!

LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are the termed colleagues on the Los Angeles Lakers. But there might not be any love left between them. However, it appears as if Westbrook would still be open to working out alongside James in a players-only, unofficial team minicamp. The news has been reported by American sports journalist Marc Stein. He wrote, “James typically hosts a players-only minicamp somewhere on the West Coast before training camp starts. So, stay tuned. Moreover, the word is that another Laker’s minicamp is likely in coming days and that Westbrook would indeed attend if it comes together.”

After a disastrous first season, many people have been questioning the inter-dynamics between Westbrook, James, and Anthony Davis. On the other hand, Westbrook and recently traded Patrick Beverly had a public feud in the past. Keeping all this in mind, it might actually be a good idea to hold a players’ gathering ahead of the season to make everything easy and smooth among the Lakers squad.

The Lakers have openly expressed a desire to trade Westbrook’s $47.1 million 2022–23 deal this summer. The team has been apprehensive about including their first-round draught selections in 2027 and 2029 and any future deals. The 2020 champion Los Angeles Lakers slumped to a 33-49 record and the 11th seed in the Western Conference in the dreadful 2021–22 season. He also had a significant decline in performance. It seemed probable that Westbrook’s time in Los Angeles would end when the Lakers swapped experienced point guard Patrick Beverley for Stanley Johnson and Talen Horton-Tucker.

Patrick Beverly Is Excited To Play With Westbrook!

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers formally welcomed new trade addition Patrick Beverley, to the club. And as they were doing so, an unexpected visitor showed up: Russell Westbrook, the 2017 NBA MVP and strangely still a current Laker.

It is public knowledge that things weren’t super smooth between Patrick Beverly and Westbrook, and there were reports of a beef between the two. However, recent reports indicate Patrick might have buried the hatchet as he said he is excited to play alongside Westbrook. Beverly also feels that their playing styles will complement each other’s game. He stated that it is exciting for him as he has never played with anyone who has the same toughness as him.
