The New York Yankees are in a really bad situation after losing all the best players to the Injury list, including Aaron Judge. However, Tuesday’s 4-2 win of the Bronx Bombers remained one of the historical moments. Adding hope to the dark time, the rookie player of the team did a really great job. Anthony Volpe’s 2-4 hit with a home run and two stolen bases made New York rise to the feet in celebrations defeating the Cleveland Guardians. Most of the credit for the extraordinary game of yesterday goes to none than Volpe, and this is how he opened the gate for this elite club in the history of the team.
Currently, the Yankees stand at 16-15 in the 2023 season. The last day’s loss to New York moved the Guardians to 14-16. However, the hero of the Yankees’ wins remained Volpe, who became the fifth Yankee to have ten stolen bases in his first 31 career games. He joined the elite club of the Legends, including Bert Daniels, who did such extraordinary things in 1910, Cozy Dolan, Fritz Maisel, and Brett Garnder, who made ten stolen bases in 2008 in the Yankees. Since 2009 no championship-winning celebration has taken place in the New York Baseball team. However, no Yankees fans are in the mood to hope for the trophy of the 2023 World Series. Reason? The Yankees are in the last position in the American League East. They are behind the Red Sox, who are at 16-14, behind the Blue Jays at 18-12, the Orioles (19-9), and the Rays by 24-6. No one should dare to hope for the ultimate celebration.
