Additionally, if the franchise needs reinforcements in case of an injury crisis, Oswald Peraza and Oswaldo Cabrera be called up. Thus, as it stands, Gio Urshela, if acquired, will serve as an infield depth, at least for the 2024 season. Kemp served with Oakland Athletics and recorded a decent season in 2023. He is known for his defensive versatility and speed on the basepaths. Kemp brings a different skill set to the table, which the Yank can benefit largely from.
But then again, the lack of roster spots means that Tony Kemp will also be required to settle as a depth piece. Regardless, the Yankees’ reported interest in Gio Urshela and Tony Kemp reflects their proactive approach to roster management. And their commitment to fielding a competitive team in the upcoming season. By targeting infield reinforcements, the team aims to address potential weaknesses and enhance roster depth.
