The front office’s off-season hard work is showing results as the New York Yankees went off to a blazing start to the 2024 MLB season. They are seated at the top of AL-East with a stellar 12-5 record. Not only that, the Bronx Bombers are yet to lose a series this season.

Notably, this comes a year after the New York Yankees finished outside the postseason with an 82-80 record in 2023. The New York Yankees, one of the most storied franchises in baseball history, have enjoyed a resurgence this year. With a stronger and balanced roster, the players have clicked early for the Bronx Bombers this year, thus propelling them to their best start in four decades of history. One of the key contributors to the Yank’s resurgence has undoubtedly been the offense. Juan Soto and the lower order, which is comprised of Anthony Volpe and Oswaldo Cabrera, left the fans amazed by their consistency on the plate. With the pitch as well, the rotation has come through despite the absence of reigning AL CY Young pitcher Gerrit Cole.

That being said, given the blazing start, top baseball power rankers ranked the New York Yankees the best team of the season so far. From The Athletic to Bleacher Report to MLB.com to USA Today to CBS Sport, literally every organization believes the Bombers are up for something special this year. That being said, the job is far from done for NYY. As the MLB season progresses and the playoff picture begins to take shape, the Yanks will look to maintain their position atop the power rankings and build momentum for a deep postseason run. The AL East is highly competitive, and it’s only a matter of time before competition gets up to speed. Therefore, the team has to maintain the momentum and, most importantly, stay healthy to last through the 162-game stretch.

After enjoying a breakout start to the season, the New York Yankees fell off the winning bandwagon against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team lost the series opener 3-1 on Monday, and notably, the Yanks came off a loss against the Cleveland Guardians in the series finale. That marks the first instance of the Bombers losing two consecutive games this year.

Regardless, the three-game series is wide open for the New York Yankees to maintain their series-winning streak. Carlos Rodon and Clarke Schmidt are lined up to start in the rest of the series, thus providing the Yanks with a fine chance at victory. The action will resume on Tuesday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.
