Mercedes has been going through a tough phase since 2022. They had been dominating the grid since 2014, when the turbo-hybrid era began. But as the hybrid era ended in 2021, the F1 fans could change in the domination of the sport. The 2021 season ended with Max Verstappen winning the Driver’s world championship for the first time. Lewis Hamilton came so close to win his 8th title in Abu Dhabi that year. But the Dutch driver denied the great Briton. Max has been denying Lewis ever since the 2021 epic showdown. Since 2022, Red Bull took control of the hegemony in the F1 grid.

Thanks to the genius mind of Adrian Newey, the Austrian outfit was able to design the fastest car the sport has ever seen. Albeit, the RB18 car in 2022 was pretty fast, it was nothing compared to the last year’s car. The RB19 was clearly the fastest car in the history of Formula One. Even Christian Horner recently mentioned they won’t be able to come up with a better car than RB19. It is a unicorn in its own way. But lately, Mercedes is looking to make promising progress ahead of the 2024 season.

As per Ted Kravitz of Sky Sports, Mercedes is looking at promising things with their W15 for this year. Moreover, Kravitz mentioned that lately, team bosses have been in chaos. The Haas team changed their team principal. They let Guenther Steiner go even before the 2024 season began. Hence, they will be welcoming a new boss soon. On the other hand, Toto Wolff extended his contract with Mercedes because they have been seeing promising things. Hence, the two drivers – Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, can truly expect a car that matches their skills and talents this year.

Kravitz informed Sky Sports News that the Mercedes boss revealed the responses from the design office and the wind tunnel is that they feel like they have a proper racing car for the first time in the last two years. And it is not like a compromised package that they had over the past seasons. Kravitz feel that’s the only real whisper which has come out of Red Bull competitors so far. Hence, Mercedes can feel cheerful and positive at the moment. But who knows what Red Bull will come up with in 2024? What if it is even better than RB19? It really seems impossible at present.

Hamilton Has Been Waiting For The Right Car Ever Since Max Denied Him The 2021 Title

As an F1 fan, it is really weird to see Lewis Hamilton being winless over two years. Before the 2022 season, the seven-time champion has never finished a season without a win. That’s the reason why he has been able to win over 103 races in his 16-year career so far.

Who knows, if Hamilton again gets the right car, he can create real problems for the current triple-time champion. He recently turned 39. And it would mean a lot to him if he could break Michael Schumacher’s record and get to eight title victories before turning 40. Now, the question is, how good is Mercedes’ W15?
