Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has been waiting for a long time now to win a Formula One Grand Prix. The last time he did was back in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021. Now, the seven-time champion is about to have a back-to-back winless season unless he wins in at least one of the three races remaining.
On top of that, the Mercedes car does not look even half as good as the RB19 of Red Bull. Hence, it might take a long time for the team to catch up with the Austrian team. However, the seven-time champion racer is not losing hope, as he feels he can soon compete against Red Bull and Max Verstappen for the title again. And for that, he wants the engineers back at the Brackley factory to go through a great six-month development process. He believes only then the Mercedes car can be on par with Red Bull’s RB20 next year.
Lewis Hamilton Has Faith In His Team To Give Him A Challenging Car
Hamilton surprisingly had another podium finish this season in the Mexican Grand Prix. It was his sixth this season. Currently, he is only 20 points behind Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for a P2 finish at the end of this season. It would be a nice way to end the season if both Mercedes and Hamilton get a P2 finish. However, the W14 car has been very inconsistent as it has not performed well at low downforce circuits but was faster around high downforce circuits. Lewis Hamilton has been saying for a long time that the car needs more downforce. Hopefully, the W15 car will have everything to give a good fight to Red Bull.
That’s what Lewis Hamilton told the reporters after the Mexican Grand Prix that he has faith in his team to provide him with a car fast enough to beat Red Bull. He insists that he’s ready to have great battles next year if he gets a car to match Red Bull’s pace. The Austrian team is too fast on the straight. Mercedes is losing two and a half tenths into turn one. That’s why Lewis Hamilton believes they have to be strategic and clinical with their next moves. But he has faith that Mercedes can build a great car again. Mercedes is progressing, and so is Red Bull.

Lewis Hamilton hopes for a great 2024 season. But what can Mercedes accomplish in the next Grand Prix in Brazil? Can Mercedes repeat the same feat as last year? Mercedes had a one-two finish in the Brazilian Grand Prix in the previous year. George Russell won his maiden Grand Prix in Brazil last year in his debut season for Mercedes.
Lewis Hamilton came second in that race. The Mercedes fans would want to see either Hamilton or Russell back on the top of the podium in Brazil like last year. Moreover, the only double podium Mercedes had so far in 2023 was in the Spanish Grand Prix. Can Mercedes turn things around next season?
