Juan Soto has been the best addition to the New York Yankees. Prior to the offseason, the fans were very unhappy with the way the team performed last season. They could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016. Moreover, the NY side had a poor batting average. It was the second-worst hitting average in the league behind the Oakland Athletics. The NY side needed to bring reinforcements for their outfield and the offense. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers were losing the trust of their fans as they have waited for a World Series appearance since 2009.

It has been a long wait for the Yankees Faithful. That’s why the front office decided to make significant changes in the offseason. As a result, they went all-in for Juan Soto in the offseason. The Yankees sacrificed several pitchers and catchers to sign the best hitter in baseball. Finally, it was worth the wait as the NY side landed Soto for a year. Now, the fans are eager to see the combination of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto making the offense one of the best in the league. Moreover, the Dominican superstar believes the team has got what it takes to make it to the “Big Dance.”

That’s why their roster looks far better than it used to like four months ago. Despite the excitement and confidence of Juan Soto, the Yankees can still improve their bullpen and pitching department. Recently, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand mentioned that the Yankees have put another offer on the table for the lefty pitcher. But they will face fierce competition from the Los Angeles Angels as well as the San Francisco Giants for the two-time Cy Young winner. Recently, Brendan Kuty and Chris Kirschner reported that the NY side’s new offer to Blake Snell has no opt-out clauses.

Albeit, the new offer is not yet clear, it might be an offer for a long-term deal. It is because the Yankees won’t be able to afford any short-term deal with a high average annual value due to their competitive balance tax status. That’s what the report from Kuty and Kirschner suggested.
