Looks like the rumors never leave Red Bull. Whether it is about the cost cap budget or about the car design. There is definitely a mole who always reveals the internal matters of Red bull. In 2022 before the budget saga, a rumor was spread about the Austrian racing team in August. It suggested that the team was testing their new components through crashes. And that Red Bull had developed a lighter chassis for the car that they used from the second half of 2022. However, these claims were directly denied by the team’s principal, Christian Horner. Now, some of the reports are saying that Red Bull is set to launch a new lighter version of the chassis for the 2023 season.

This is a piece of confidential information. But the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport has already revealed that Red Bull’s car weight is being reduced by 3 kilograms in the new model. Now one can relate the above two facts. One report says that Red Bull’s chassis will be lighter. And another says that the overall car’s weight is going to be lighter. Sounds like Horner is not aware of this news when he denies the rumors.

Meanwhile, talking about this year’s championship, Red Bull was not doing great initially. In front of the Scuderia team, Red Bull’s overweight issues did not let Max Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc. Soon the team analyzed the weight problem and mended it. Now, for the 2023 championship machine, it is obvious that Red Bull will not repeat the same. As a result, a new lighter chassis seems to be the thing that Red bull would definitely go for.

Red Bull Is Setting A New Chassis, But Why Did Horner Denied Using It?

The rumors suggest that Red Bull will install the new tool in the mid or after the season’s half of the races get over. Launching such changes to attain a positive result is not a big deal. But the fact that Christian Horner completely denied agreeing that they will bring a change is surprising for fans. When the reporters asked him in Italy about the concept change of the 2023 Red Bull car, Christian said they were not looking for any such thing.

Meanwhile, the Sky Sports media asked Christain Horner about these rumors spread in august about the crash test of the new tools. He said, “I have no idea where these rumors are coming from. But, No! there are no plans of installing a lighter chassis, We are already in a good shape and we keep going.”

According to Christian Horner, the lighter chassis is just senseless humor. However, when the team was asked what problems they faced in the 2022 F1 season, they said, “The main problem was the car being too heavy.” At the time, Red Bull’s chief advisor Helmut Marko suggested that the RB18 was 10kg heavier than the rest of the cars present on the grid. He claimed that the team is looking forward to the overweight issues and will try to solve them.

Meanwhile, Red Bull has already got a 10% percent reduction due to the cost cap penalty. And, the least allowance due to the constructor’s champion in the aerodynamics development. Therefore they will not be able to launch more new upgrades in the upcoming season. But, Helmut Marko has assured fans that they need not worry because team Red Bull already has a good basic package.
