Red Bull Racing was hit with a storm earlier this year when a female employee accused team principal Christian Horner of sexually transgressive behavior. While the internal committee swept the accusations under the rug, the incident caused a dent in the team’s unity and image.

As a direct ripple effect of Christian Horner’s case, Red Bull lost celebrated engineer Adrian Newey. And in a major embarrassment for Horner, Newey’s exit move was orchestrated by a dear friend who also went on to call the team principal’s case absurd and demanded more clarity from the drink-based outfit.

Former F1 boss and Adrian Newey’s manager, Eddie Jordan stunned Red Bull team principal Christian Horner when he orchestrated the acclaimed engineer’s early exit from the drink-based outfit. Horner, who was Jordan’s close aide, felt deceived by the former boss’ move against his own team. While taking to Formula Passion, Jordan revealed that when Horner learned about Newey’s plea to seek an early exit, his jaws dropped to the floor as he used cuss words against Eddie. He called me: ‘Ah, Eddie, you’re a f**ker, silent killer, ‘” Jordan said. Furthermore, the ex-F1 boss took shots at the 50-year-old Brit, saying his sexual abuse cause caused chaos in the team. He called the team’s situation absurd and urged RB to take reformative measures.

Eddie Jordan also insisted that Red Bull failed to provide clarity in Christian Horner’s case as he believes that no women would throw such sensitive allegations against a powerful man out of thin air. And if at all Horner is innocent, RB should reveal if the accuser is guilty or not. “The damage to Red Bull’s image is already huge. Someone has to pull the ripcord now,” Jordan added. Indeed, Horner’s unsolved case left the team in tatters amid a dominant run. Not only did it push away Newey, but it also left the drink-based outfit in two halves and triggered an unwarranted power divide. However, Christian Horner is enjoying his privilege with the backing of a majority of Thai owners. He has continued to stay in his position throughout the investigation and is unlikely to face any heat for his actions anytime soon.

Red Bull Racing extended Sergio Perez’s contract for an additional two years until 2026 when new engine regulations are scheduled to come into effect. However, F1 pundit Andrew Benson believes the decision could backfire on the team. Benson said tensions between Checo and Max Verstappen flared up in 2022 and continued to grow as time passed.

Hence, it’s highly likely that defending World Champion Max Verstappen isn’t happy with Red Bull’s decision to retain Checo, and as a result, the Dutch driver could leave the team in 2026. Interestingly, Max’s exit rumors have been floating around for a while now. While he insists on seeing the end of his contract in 2028, the silly season is extremely volatile and unpredictable.
