The Los Angeles Lakers have clearly been through a lot in the current season. They could have had a better start if not for injuries and issues with balance in the roster. The team made a lot of changes to bring in the right mix. A lot of veteran players had to be traded. They were just not working out as well; the Lakers would have liked them to. One of those players was Patrick Beverley. The 34-year-old point guard came to the Lakers in August 2022. He would have liked to stay with the franchise for a long time, but it was not meant to be.
The team already had superstars in the form of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. And then joined Beverley in the mix. Albeit, the mix was not helping the Lakers to get to the top ten. They were lingering at the bottom for most of the time Beverley was with the franchise.
Why Is Patrick Beverley Not Happy With The Lakers?
What went wrong at that time? Fans have been asking this question for some time now. And they finally got the answer. According to Pat Beverley, nobody in the team gave him much importance. Suppose he wanted to suggest something, but that would get overlooked. It was as if James, Davis, and Westbrook were the be-all and end-all. After those, they may give Beverley a chance to share some advice he wanted to.

Pat also pointed out the unhealthy fans community of the Lakers, saying, “now that I’m with the Bulls, if I have a bad day, the fans let go. But when I was with the Lakers, they would call me bum and ask me to leave.” Overall Beverley did not have a nice time with coach Darvin Ham’s group.
Pat Bev says his time with Lakers was frustrating.

“Yeah we should do this on defense… ‘nah we cool, we cool… nah we gotta rotate’… Bron what you mean we gotta rotate, you ain’t even playing… They don’t listen to me…. You gotta go through the first year coach, the LeBron,… pic.twitter.com/HeChGDEScj
Pat Bev further mentioned that he was full of frustration after a point of time. Now, he is playing for his hometown team, Chicago Bulls, and had a good start with them. In fact, the Bulls were looking for a point guard who was strong in attack and defense both for a long time. Hence, Beverley may perfectly fit with the Bulls.
How Far Pat And The Bulls Go In The Current Season?
However, Pat never really enjoyed his time with any of the LA franchises, neither the Lakers nor the Clippers. Looking at Beverley’s history, the obvious thing that catches the naked eye is that he does not stay with any team longer than a year. The only two teams he had a four-year journey with were the Rockets and the Clippers. One year each for all the other teams for Pat, and only time will tell how long he stays with the Bulls. But his style of play can be suitable for the Bulls to strengthen their defense.

Currently, the Chicago Bulls are the 10th seed of the Eastern Conference and will hope Beverley can continue as well as he started with them. On the other hand, the LA Lakers are somehow hanging in there. After beating the Suns, they climbed to the 10th spot in the Western Conference. Only time will tell how far can these two teams go. If they can reach the playoffs or at least the play-in tournament. Only nine games remain for the Lakers, as they are the 10th seed with a 36-37 ratio.
