Patrick Beverley Claims “He Wanted To Leave The Lakers,” It Was Not The Other Way Around

The former Clippers player Patrick Beverley joined the Lakers last August. He made his debut on October 18, 2022, for the LA Lakers. Other than Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers, Patrick Beverley did not stay with any franchise for four or more years. Throughout his professional career, Beverley kept getting traded from one team to another.

When he came into the Lakers, he was traded from Utah Jazz. As an exchange for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson. But his stay with the Lakers did not last long either. After making his debut last October, the Lakers traded him to Orlando Magic on February 9, 2023.

Patrick Beverley Shared His Feeling After Leaving The Lakers

A few days after he went to the Magic, Beverley signed a contract with Chicago Bulls on February 21, to be exact. The 34-year-old point guard must be happy to represent his hometown franchise, Chicago Bulls. Only time will tell how long he stays with the Bulls. But in the meantime, Patrick Beverley is a little bit annoyed with the news. The news states, “The Lakers traded Beverley to the Magic. It was a four-team deal where the Clippers and the Nuggets were also part of.” According to Beverley, that is not true. What he is trying to say is that he wanted to leave the LeBron James-Anthony Davis team rather than they wanted to trade him.

Patrick Beverley hosts a pretty popular podcast called Pat Bev Podcast. In a recent episode of that podcast, Beverley tried to set the record straight about what actually happened between him and the Lakers. Patrick said, “I wanted to leave the team because I was dissatisfied.” He added that people might think whatever they want, but he knows the truth. He did not like what was happening in the team and decided to find a new home for himself. It was not because the front office of the Lakers thought Beverley was not good enough or wanted to get rid of him. Leaving the Lakers was his own decision. With the Lakers, Beverley played 45 matches. His average for the franchise was 6.4, 3.1, and 2.6, with points, rebounds, and assists, respectively.

How Can Beverley Help The Bulls?

Now Chicago Bulls will be looking up to Beverley to help them go ahead to the post-season. The bulls are currently the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 28-34 win-loss ratio. In the podcast episode, Beverley said that he wants to beat the Lakers and knock them out of the post-season whenever or if they meet in the current season. Albeit, he started discussing essential points on why it did not work out with the Lakers. Until he went back to the usual habit of trolling the Lakers.

Now the Chicago fans will have their eyes on the local boy and will want him to deliver. Patrick Beverley, who is a specialist in defense, has participated in a couple of games for the Bulls. Furthermore, the 34-year-old has helped the team to end its losing streak. With Beverley, the Bulls have won back-to-back matches. Let’s see if Patrick Beverley can help his team win three consecutive games.
