Looks like the New York Yankees have a set bullpen for the 2023 season. They stayed active all off-season to acquire the best of the best in their roster. However, the Yanks had to spend a huge chunk of cash in the process. But the Yankees’ front office would not even mind selling their souls in exchange for a strong roster. After all, the 13 year long wait for a championship title gets to your head eventually.

Moving on, in a recent development, the Yanks have reinstated a couple of players from their previous season’s roster as the trade deadline ended on Friday. Hence, Frankie Montas and Nestor Cortes signed a one-year contract with the Bronx Bombers in order to avoid arbitration. With this, the Bombers lineup looks set, and the front office is unlikely to make any further changes.

While the other arbitration eligible players have settled for a one-year contract with the Yankees, Gleyber Torres seems to be hanging in the balance. The Friday deadline has ended, and Torres is yet to sign a contract. As per MLB insider Jon Heyman, Torres was adamant at $10.2 million, whereas the Yankees asked him to settle at $9.7 million. However, Torres did not budge, and not the Yankees will move into the arbitration hearing. Still, there is room for settlement before the hearing is scheduled.

Along with Nestor Cortes, Frankie Montas ($7.5 million) and Kyle Higashioka ($1.46 million) signed one-year contracts with the Bombers ahead of the Friday deadline. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees are mostly done with the off-season. The only room left is for Bryan Reynolds in the left field. The Yankees are keen on bringing Bryan on board. However, the Pirates’ trade ask is nearly impossible for the Yankee front office to agree to.
