NBA Analyst Compares Ja Morant With LeBron James, Says He Needs To Learn How To Handle Fame

Memphis Grizzlies’ star point guard Ja Morant stirred up a fresh controversy after showing off a gun in an Instagram live session.

Sport is a field that can make or break a player within a matter of seconds. A sportsperson who struggled all his life could attain fame overnight. However, just like the other side of the coin, sports can brutally destroy that fame and name if you fail to control it. The interesting case of Memphis Grizzlies’ point guard, Ja Morant, lands on the other side of the coin.

Since his NBA debut, Morant had made a name for himself by becoming a two time all star player at the age of 23. However, all his on-court glory is turning into dust due to his off-field antics. Morant’s off-field altercations have often landed him in deep trouble. Now, the point guard is under scrutiny for allegedly showing off a gun during an Instagram live session.

NBA Analyst Blast Ja Morant, Asks Him To Learn From The Likes Of LeBron James, Kevin Durant

NBA has investigated Ja Morant for the third time in the span of the last two months. Earlier this month, Moran was accused of flashing a firearm laser at the Indian Pacer’s bus following an altercation with the Pacers players during the game. Later, a 17-year-old teenage boy accused the point guard of physically assaulting him and even pointing a gun at him at a local game during the off-season. Now, Morant flashed the same gun during a live video and is again under investigation.

Fans and critics have criticized Ja Morant for his repeated offenses. An NBA Analyst compared Morant to LeBron James and Kevin Durant and urged him to draw inspiration from them. He said the like of James and Durant are at the top of their careers and still have managed to stay away from any kind of off-field controversies. While on-court game disputes are part and parcel of the game, off-court antics are intolerable under any circumstances. The analyst concluded by saying if you do not follow the footsteps of these legends of the game, it is unlikely that your career is moving in the right direction.

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant faced repercussions for his actions and has been suspended, effective immediately, from taking part in any NBA-officiated basketball activities. While the ban initially stayed for just two games, the latest rumors suggest Morant could be out for the long haul. Amid all the backlash, the point guard issued a statement and apologized for his actions.

Ja Morant wrote in a statement that he takes full responsibility for his actions and apologized to his family, fans, teammates, and the city of Memphis for letting them down. Further, the point guard added that he would take some time off the court and seek the necessary help to curb his overall well-being issues. Meanwhile, the NBA has not yet issued any statement on the entire incident.
