Los Angeles Lakers: Dillon Brooks To Pay A Heavy Price For Trash-Talking LeBron James!

LeBron James has been part of the NBA for two decades. He has accomplished feats that very few players before and after him could imagine doing. King James is the all-time leading scorer. A few months ago, LeBron James broke the 38-year-old record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He is no. 4 on the list of top assists of all-time. LeBron James has won 4 MVPs and 4 MVPs in the finals awards. Furthermore, he has four championships in his NBA storeroom. Needless to say, he is one of the most decorated players in history. James is at the moment playing in his 20th NBA season.

Now a decorated player like James faces trash talk at the age of 38 from a 27-year-old big mouth does not look good. The Memphis Grizzlies’ shooting guard Dillon Brooks could neither stop James nor the Lakers from ending their season. Brooks apparently started taunting the Lakers even when they were playing in the play-in game against the Timberwolves. He was boastful enough to say that it could be a walk in the park for his team against the Lakers. He even had the audacity to call James “old.” However, the Lakers squad waited for the right opportunity to hit back with words.

At first, the purple and gold hit the Grizzlies hard on the court as they won round 1 of the playoff 4-2. After the series was sealed, the Lakers star tweeted a cryptic message to Brooks to tell him, “Who’s the boss?” Now as a fitting reply and to make things worse for the Grizzlies’ big mouth, his own team has shown Dillon Brooks the door. As the season ended for the Memphis franchise, they came to the conclusion that they were better off without Brooks. Hence, the Grizzlies let Brooks go.

After a span of six seasons with the Grizzlies, Dillon Brooks is at present unemployed in the version of National Basketball Association. Meanwhile, Brooks has only played for the Grizzlies in his whole NBA career. Hence, the action of the franchise was a big burn for Brooks. Only he is responsible for this predicament. Dillon Brooks has been nothing but unprofessional, and his behavior was a little too hard to take for all, including his franchise. He also had to pay a fine of $25000 for not attending postgame interviews. However, Brooks’ dirty playing style has been under the radar before. Not just after the series against the Lakers.

Brooks Has Always Been A Hazard For Memphis

In last February, Dillon Brooks had a rough encounter with Mitchell Donovan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He hurt Mitchell’s ankle and hit him in his groin as well. As a result, Brooks received a suspension for a game. And once again, he did the same thing with LeBron James, hitting him in the groin. Apparently, Brooks has been nothing but trouble and a hazard for the Grizzlies.

On the other hand, LeBron James and his team are moving forward in the playoffs. The Lakers are getting positive results for being silent off-court and answering through their performances. The LA side is leading the round 2 playoff series against the defending champions, Golden State Warriors, 1-0.
