LeBron James
LeBron James-LA Lakers

LeBron James is doing everything in his power to pull the Los Angeles Lakers on his back. On the last night of 2022, he scored 47 points, a season-high for his birthday bash. And his contribution in the absence of Anthony Davis brought the Lakers back in form. When it comes to performing consistently, LA is the least reliable team in the league. Even then, the Lakers forward went against the flow to give the Lakers solid footing in the new year.

The 38-year-old’s performance against the Hornets matched with Michael Jordan’s great feat. He and Jordan are the only two players to score 40-plus points consecutively at the age of 38. And even LeBron James’ peak powers are not making the lakers a title contender. Apart from the three star-studded players, the squad is filled with pretty average players. Critics have even announced that the Lakers can not win the title with players like Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nun. Although the front office has been working to improve the roster for three months, no outcomes have poured in.

LeBron James Regrets His Contract Extension With The Lakers

Recently the 18-time All-star deleted a tweet in which he cried about missing the playoffs last season. LeBron even mentioned that he would not like to miss another playoff. But the tweet has not been found since Christmas, indicating that LeBron is afraid to get hate. And apart from the hatred, he is now tied down to the team with a very high chance of missing the postseason this year. LeBron James made a deal to have him wear the Purple and Gold until the end of 2024/25 for $97.1 million.

The Akron Hammer is one of the greatest players ever to play the game of basketball. And he, of course, costs much more than other players in the league but did he choose the right team? Bill simons, an NBA analyst, has criticized LeBron James on many occasions for his extension with the Lakers. Meanwhile, the offer made him a billionaire but took away the shot at the title. It looks like money can not buy everything after all. And the four-time champ lives for the glory, not for the sake of playing the game.

The Lakers Wasting LeBron’s Time

Although the form Cavs forward is at the peak of his power at his age, the Lakers are not taking James seriously. LeBron James is playing his 20th season averaging 27 points in every game. However, the Lakers are still unable to capitalize on LeBron’s form. Nick Wright, another NBA analyst, criticized the front office for showing reluctance to improve the roster.

Nick believes that having LeBron James on the team and saving the drafts for future championships is an insult to the four-time champ. The Lakers should shoot for the stars if they have Anthony Davis and LeBron. Nicks also believes that the table toppers in the Western Conference dont have the championship pedigree. Meanwhile, the Lakers could only hope for reinforcement. In the meantime, LA is preparing to host the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow at Crypto Arena.
