LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an unstoppable force of the National Basketball Association. King James is made to break records. He is 38 but shows no sign of age-related issues with fitness, strength, and consistency. Recently he broke the mythically unbreakable all-time scoring record of the “Captain.” It was a highly significant event because, for almost four decades, there was no one who came close to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record. KAJ made that record a few months before LeBron James was born.
But the man from Akron, Ohio, was born to rule and make all the records his own. At 38, King James is leaving no stone unturned. After LeBron James became the leader of the NBA’s all-time scoring, he is gradually climbing up the list of top Assists as well. He is currently in the fourth place. King James is still playing at the top of his game in his 20th NBA season. The King played in his 19th All-Star game equalling the great KAJ again. As the greats say, all these records are a testament to his consistency, durability, and longevity.
LeBron James Only 13 Games Away From Getting To The 8th Place
Another table where the King is gradually climbing up is the list of most games played in NBA history. Robert Parish has played the most games with 1,611 career games. Currently, the King is in ninth place but is only 13 games behind the eighth-place holder Kevin Willis. Willis has played 1,424 games to win the eighth position. If all goes right, LeBron James may get to Robert Parish in the remaining years of his career.
King James currently has a better average than most players in the ongoing season, with 30.0 points per game along with 8.4 and 7.0 rebounds and assists, respectively. He has played around 45 matches this season. With this level of physical and mental prowess, it is very much possible that King James will play for another three or maybe more years. He would want to wait for his son Bronny to get drafted next year in NBA. Whichever team buys Bronny will have a great chance to get King James at any price they want. As LeBron James mentioned that before retiring, he would like to play alongside his son for an NBA franchise.
LeBron James will definitely have his name in the Hall of Fame after he retires. All said and done, King James is now giving his full attention to the remaining games for the Lakers in the regular season. As King James said before that he cannot have back-to-back seasons not playing in the postseason. “That’s just not in my DNA.”
The last season saw the Lakers going down 33-49, making it the second time LeBron James as a Lakers player not made it to the postseason. Before the game against the Warriors, they had 23 games left in the regular season. It was vital for them to win, and they did it. As the new recruit, Malik Beasley, mentioned that it was a statement game for the team. The Lakers are looking forward to winning the championship.
