On Tuesday, LeBron James missed out on the first game since Anthony Davis suffered a mid-foot sprain in Mid-February. James suffered from a left ankle injury during the Lakers\’ game against the Pelicans on Sunday. James was ruled out against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, resulting in a 128-110 loss for the Lakers. After the loss, the Lakers slipped to the eleventh position in the Western Conference.
Fortunately, the Lakers recently moved up a spot after the San Antonio Spurs lost a game. James is still recovering from his ankle injury and may not play against the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis is also trying to make a comeback after his injury. The Lakers will need their superstars on the court soon if they have to make it to the play-ins with only seven games left. So, will LeBron James play against the Utah Jazz tonight? Keep reading ahead to find out!
LeBron James Will Not Play On Thursday:
James\’ unavailability has resulted in a disappointing loss for the Lakers against the Mavericks. Shockingly, the Lakers gave away 82 points during the first half. Efforts from players like Malik Monk And Russell Westbrook were not enough to attain a win. The Athletic\’s Jovan Buha has reported the status of LeBron And Anthony\’s injuries and their chances of playing against the Utah team on Thursday.
Buha tweeted that the Lakers have listed LeBron James as out against the Utah jazz. Moreover, Anthony Davis has been listed as doubtful. The Lakers fans would be highly disappointed to know that the 37-year-old will not be able to play during the next game. LeBron has carried the Lakers single-handedly by scoring 30+points each game since Davis was ruled out. With James not being able to play, a win against the Utah Jazz seems like an impossible feat.
Utah currently stands at the sixth position with a 45-31, while the Lakers have a disappointing record of 31-44. Hence, it will be pretty tough for the likes of Westbrook and Monk to lead the Lakers to a much-needed victory in the next game. LeBron would be hoping to get back on the court during the home game against the Pelicans on Friday. The medical staff is currently working on reducing the swelling on the left ankle. We will get more information about his injury during the practice ahead of the game on Friday. Hopefully, Anthony Davis and LeBron James recover on time to play the game.
