LeBron James Calls Out Los Angeles Lakers’ Problematic Trend As 2023-24 NBA Season Campaign Lands In Jeopardy!

Looks like LeBron James is clearly not happy with how things have started for the Los Angeles Lakers. And who can blame him? Anyway, for LeBron James, it has been a struggle since the 2020 Bubble Championship to find any success with the LA side. He will be 39 next December. This season might be his last chance to do something special, like winning his 5th ring. But the Lakers have been disappointing so far.

Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura have also not lived up to their expectations so far. These young athletes had high expectations since the offseason. The Lakers retained them with multi-year contracts. But the Lakers are still struggling like they struggled last year with the start of the season. Moreover, the King expressed his disappointment after the Magic game.

Even at 38, going on 39, LeBron James is still showcasing his brilliance at every game night. But still, on Saturday, the Orlando Magic was able to beat the Lakers 120-101. Moreover, the Magic kind of blew the Lakers away. The Lakers need to get better on the road. In the post-game interview, LeBron James said the Lakers defense was terrible. Moreover, he mentioned that it is high time they figure out how to break this “Trend” of defeats against so-called “Weaker teams.” For the Lakers, Anthony Davis scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, whereas, LeBron James scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Saturday.

Even then, the Magic was better at grabbing rebounds with 51 to the Laker’s 40. The LA side will next face the Miami Heat, and then they will play against the Houston Rockets. Only back-to-back victories can bring some sort of relief in the Laker’s camp. But even Anthony Davis looked puzzled after the loss against the Magic. He said, “It is a collective problem.” If the LA side wants to make the postseason, they will need LeBron James and Anthony Davis at their top form. But the James-Davis duo sure needs their teammates to assist them well. Austin Reaves has not been consistent this season so far.

Darvin Ham Not Too Worried About The Lakers Rebounding Against The Magic

Lately, Darvin Ham told Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times that it is not possible to scheme to rebound. All a player needs is the desire to get the damn ball. That’s what the Lakers coach believes in, plain and simple. But Darvin Ham said that the team needs to continue working on their rebounding skills and acknowledge it when they’re doing a good job or a poor job. After the offseason, the fans had high hopes too about the team. They had managed to maintain a good balance and depth in the roster.

Since the team made it to the Western Conference Finals last season, the LA side should have been high in confidence. However, the way the current regular season started has been really disappointing. They won three and lost three. Despite having balance in the roster, the Lakers had been through several injury issues already. Hence, it has been a dismal start to the new campaign.
