Lakers\’ Teammates Fuming As Anthony Davis Gets Sidelined From The All-Star Roster, AD Responds

The Los Angeles Lakers are going through a rough patch this season. Well, not just this current season, frankly. The purple and gold missed out on the playoff last season in 2021. On top of that, the team is on the same path this season as well. The Lakers rank 12th on the Western Conference points table with 25-28.

Despite LeBron James dominating performance, the Lakers are finding it hard to close the game. Moreover, injury concerns have hampered the team\’s overall performance big time. Firstly, the club\’s MVP-level player, Anthony Davis, suffered from a stress foot fracture that kept him out for more than five weeks. Further, Lonnie Walker IV and Austin Reaves suffered from respective injuries and are on the bench. Meanwhile, another disappointing news has got the Lakers fuming in rage.

Before Anthony Davis went down with a stress foot fracture in December, the center forward was playing at an MVP level. Moreover, the injury kept Davis out for more than five weeks. Under his absence, the struggling Lakers\’ form plunged further, and they kept falling on the points table. Meanwhile, the injury has cost AD a place in the NBA Western Conference All-Star Roster.

During the Lakers\’ game against the Pacers, the NBA announced its Western Conference All-Star roster. To everyone\’s surprise, Anthony Davis was not named in the starting roster. On top of that, the Lakers center forward even failed to get a place in the reserves. The decision was not well received by the AD\’s teammates at the Lakers. Chris Haynes of the Bleacher Reports claimed the Lakers players are agitated over AD\’s All-Star snub and expressed their disappointment privately in the locker room.

Meanwhile, Anthony Davis is pretty much unaffected by the All-Star roster snub. While talking to the media after the game against the Pacers, AD said the five weeks\’ absence did hurt his chances of a selection. However, the center forward assured he was fine with the snub. Moreover, Davis added his family is happy as they would get to spend some quality time and even plan a good vacation during the off time.

Anthony Davis further added his main goal at the Lakers to compete for the NBA championship and not participate in All-Star games. AD also admitted he is struggling to find his rhythm back post recovery. However, the center forward assured the fans that he would try his best on the court and bring as many points as possible for the Los Angeles Lakers. Meanwhile, the LA Lakers desperately need Anthony Davis at his prime now as the playoff gates are closing in for the club.
