Russell Westbrook

The LA Lakers are in dire need of changing their luck as they are lingering around at the bottom of the table of the Western Conference. Despite LeBron James going full throttle at every match, the Lakers are finding it hard to maintain their winning streak. After the game against the Clippers, the team lost the 12th seed and went down to the 13th spot. It seems like the front office, mainly Rob Pelinka, General Manager, feels the need to make some tough calls. According to sources, the player they have got in mind to buy is Zach LaVine. In order to get him, the Lakers need to give up on one of their essential experienced player, Russell Westbrook. Are they going to that risk? Apparently, they are.

Apparently, the Lakers are thinking about the future. They are looking far ahead to the future during a post-LeBron James time. Their plan is to get their roster ready for the distant future. So the goal is to lay the foundation from the current ongoing season. The Lakers can try to do some miracle in the play-in tournament to reach the playoffs. This is because the chances are not looking too good to qualify for the playoffs. Hence, it is better to take this season as a team-building phase and arrange all the puzzles to find the solution to get a championship-winning team ready for the future.

Evidence That Suggests The Lakers Are Rooting For Youth Over Experience

Zach LaVine

The plan of the LA Lakers’ front office is quite evident in the selection of their new picks. The team is conspicuously rooting for youth over experience. The latest addition to their roster, the Japanese basketball player Rui Hachimura, is only 24 years old. If Russell Westbrook, who is 34 years old, is traded to the Bulls in exchange for Zach LaVine, who is only 27 years old, this theory, as mentioned earlier, will be proven right.

One good news for the LA Lakers for the current season is that Anthony Davis is looking to make a comeback to the team. He is looking fitter than before. His inclusion will no doubt make a lot of difference. At least, that is what the Lakers fans will hope for. The Lakers would be happy to move on with the Westbrook-LaVine trade if an All-Star is possible to be picked in the first round. Hence LaVine’s inclusion will become handy for the Lakers.

Other Player LA Might Vouch For

Lakers
Trae Young

Another player that the LA Lakers might have their eyes on is the 24-year-old Atlanta Hawks player, Trae Young. This talented youngster might be looking for a team change with his team not performing too well. Other than the Los Angeles Lakers, the Atlanta Hawkes is another team that is facing a tough time in the current ongoing season.

Trae Young is currently averaging pretty well though with 27.1 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, 9.9 assists per game, and scores the 3-pointers on an average of 32%. A lot of teams including the New York Knicks might also like to bet on him, however, the Hawks would look to trade him with a Western Conference team to avoid any sort of clash against him in the future and definitely not in a possible playoff encounter.
