Celtics’ center forward Jayson Tatum scripts history in his fourth all-star game appearance after scoring record-breaking points.
The 2023 NBA season All-Star game between Team LeBron and Team Giannis took place on Sunday, February 20, 2023. Both the captains drafted their players on an open stage just minutes before the commencement of the game. After the teams were stacked, the game began, and Boston Celtics’ center forward, Jayson Tatum, went bonkers. The forward clocked 55 points in total with 6 assists and 10 rebounds.
Tatum’s impressive run helped Team Giannis win the all-star game with a scoreline of 184-175. Moreover, Jayson has been heavily rewarded for his impressive run post-game. Further, the day got even better for the center forward, who turned yet another dream of his into reality just hours after the all-star game took place in Salt Lake City.
Jayson Tatum Earns His First All-Star MVP
Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum was drafted into Team Giannis for this season’s All-Star game. However, even Tatum himself would not have expected to have such an extraordinary run. The center forward went all guns blazing and destroyed Team LeBron single-handedly. He scored 27 points alone in the third quarter by taking 3-pointers from all ends of the court, the most by any player in an All-Star game. Further, Jayson ended up scoring massive 55 points for his team and scripted history.
As a result of a remarkable run, Jayson Tatum was rewarded with his first Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award. The 24-year-old later gave an acceptance speech wherein he said the MVP award means the world to him. Jayson believes the records are meant to be broken, and he will try to maintain this record as long as possible until someone new comes in. Tatum concluded, saying seeing his name alongside the legends of the game feels unreal and overwhelming.
“It (All-Star MVP) means the world,” said Jayson Tatum.
Tatum Launches His Signature Jordan Shoes
On Sunday, February 20, 2023, Jayson Tatum became the NBA All-Star Game MVP, capping off a remarkable day that also included the unveiling of his first signature shoe, the Jordan Tatum 1. Jayson ticked off a dream from his bucket list after unveiling the shoes. He signed a deal with Jordan back in 2019, and now years later, he has his own signature Jordan shoes. The timing of Tatum’s MVP performance and the unveiling of his new shoe could not have been better for Jordan.
The shoe was officially unveiled on Sunday, just hours after Tatum’s career-defining All-Star Game. Jayson shared exclusive pictures of him posing with the shoes on his Instagram handle and captioned it as, “Dreams do come true.” Moreover, exclusive photos of the shoe line are available on Jordan’s official Instagram page. The sneakers are available in four different colors and will be put up for sale somewhere during March with a price tag of $120.
