Darvin Ham Planning To Play Anthony Davis At The CENTER POSITION, Will That Lead The Lakers To Success?

Thanks to Anthony Davis\’ return and his dominating 28-point performance, LA Lakers finally won their first preseason encounter against the Warriors. With this, Hollywood ended their losing streak. Lately, Davis missed two previous games owing to his back issues. But luckily, he seemed all right in the game against the Warriors. Meanwhile, there have been a lot of talks about the right position for Anthony Davis. But what does Darvin Ham has in plan for Anthony? 

What Is Darvin Ham\’s Strategy For Anthony Davis?

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors on Sunday to earn their first preseason victory and their first overall victory since December 2020. Anthony Davis started at center and played even though guys like Lebron James, Patrick Beverley, and Russell Westbrook were resting. Davis also looks to be a fantastic match for the center position, even though he mostly played power forward up to the 2021–22 season. From his stance in the middle, he could spread the floor.

Head coach Darvin Ham has attempted starting AD at the five before, but this is not the first time. Davis was initially assigned to play the starting center position in last Wednesday\’s contest with the Suns. Last season, though, there were whispers that AD didn\’t want to play the five, and that appeared to be the end of the matter. With the addition of Thomas Bryant and Damian Jones to the Lakers\’ roster this summer. The notion that Davis would be playing more time at the four looked to be confirmed.

If Ham does this, he\’ll need a strategy on the defensive end. There, the Lakers will undoubtedly be surrendering a lot of height to their opponents in the two-through-four spots of each team\’s lineup. Frank Vogel, a former head coach, and Darvin Ham both proactively announce their starting lineups. It stands out as a sharp contrast. Sometimes, Vogel withheld information until just before tip-off. On the other hand, Ham seems to be far more willing when providing information to reporters. With the Lakers looking to make a strong comeback, Darvin Ham\’s new strategy might just be the key to their success.
