How Inviting The Non-Roster Players For Spring Training Will Help Yankees Elevate Their 2024 Season?

The New York Yankees focused on the offseason to turn things around after the terrible 2023 season. They had the second-worst batting average last year. Moreover, it was the Oakland Athletics who were the only team with an even worse batting average. Clearly, the team needed to make significant changes this offseason. That’s what they did. Moreover, the NY side made sure they had more dependable outfielders. This way, the offense of the Bronx Bombers got even stronger. But the biggest boost this offseason for the NY side was when they signed Juan Soto for a year. The Dominican superstar alone changes the dynamic of the Yankees outfield.

Previously, Aaron Judge was the lone superstar in that outfield for the NY side. Now, they have the two best hitters in the league in the same batting order. Clearly, it raises hope for the Bronx Bombers for the upcoming season. The Yankees Nation hopes their beloved team will redeem themselves in 2024. Now, the question is if they can win the AL East. It won’t be easy because the Baltimore Orioles are looking stronger than ever. Anyhow, the Yankees look to focus on their spring training at present. Surprisingly though, the Bronx Bombers invited many non-roster players for their spring training.

On February 15, the pitchers and catchers of the NY side will report to Tampa. Then, on February 20, the Yankees will have their first full-squad workout. Moreover, the team will need to figure out exactly what the batting order will look like. Earlier, Aaron Boone mentioned he was still not sure if he would send Juan Soto at second or third.

Hence, the batting order for Soto and Aaron Judge is still in a little bit of uncertain territory. But the Yankees skipper said it will come down to who’s going as the leadoff hitter. Chances are it will be DJ LeMahieu. Moreover, who’ll start alongside Gerrit Cole? Either Carlos Rodon or Nestor Cortes. Or perhaps it will be Marcus Stroman.
