Grizzlies Seeking Big Advantage Over Lakers’ Anthony Davis Despite Not Having Ja Morant On Team

The Los Angeles Lakers excelled in the first playoff game of the season against the table-toppers Memphis Grizzlies. The whole team looked more coordinated and gelled to put up the performance in their last game. However, there was one big scare on Sunday where everyone thought that Anthony Davis would be out of the game. He has been very prone to injuries ever since he joined LA in 2019. So whenever he goes down in pain, the Lakers fans have mini heart attacks. But fortunately, the 29-year-old was soon back on the court to help his team win.

According to Anthony, when he took a fall under Jaren Jackson, he was unable to move his arm. He even revealed that the pain in the arm was unbearable and heavy. “It was weak. Couldn’t like lift it up or hold it up myself. Couldn’t move it and just went to the back early,” said Davis. Therefore, he went back and did some strength things to come out and put in 22 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocks in 36 minutes. They are quite big numbers, even when he was injured at the start of the second quarter of the game.

Undoubtedly, the 29-year-old was incredible. Even if AD was not massive with his scoreline, he was still a huge presence. His 12 rebounds and seven blocks, along with 22 points, tell the story of how his game went. Davis’ presence is always huge whenever he steps up for the team. His stats even makes him the first payer in 20 years after Duncan to put such impressive stats in the playoffs.

However, Desmond Bane believes that the Grizzlies are going to be just fine in the second game of the series against Davis. He praised the Lakers center but also displayed his confidence that they are capable of taking care of him. “I think ball movement is going to have to be at a premium,” Desmond said. He asserted that Davis tries to make the game much simpler for the Lakers.

Meanwhile, Bane is confident because of their last season’s record, where they lost the first game of the series to win it all in the six remaining games. They did it against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but this time they are facing LeBron James and Anthony Davis duo.

Anthony Davis and Ja Morant were considered the best candidates for the team to clash on the court. And both of them hurt themselves while playing the best game for their teams.

On the one hand where the Lakers center was lucky to return from the arm injury in the first half. Morant, on the other hand, was not so lucky to avoid his hand injury. He has revealed that he is in a lot of pain, and his X-rays came negative.
