Looks like Red Bull is planning to make a strict decision on Sergio Perez. The Mexican driver raised hopes as he won a couple of races after the first four Grands Prix. He was going head-to-head with his current double-time champion teammate Max Verstappen. F1 fans thought there would be a fierce rivalry action between the two Red Bull drivers. But from the Monaco Grand Prix, Perez lost his grip on the title. Although, Checo mentioned after winning the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix that he has a better understanding of the car than last year. Hence, he will go for the championship battle against his teammate.

The Mexican does not plan to play the supporting role of Max Verstappen anymore. Hence, Checo needed to keep winning and challenging his teammate. Moreover, in Monaco, Sergio Perez was the favorite as he is an expert in street circuits. But he performed terribly in Monte Carlo, giving Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Alpine driver Esteban Ocon a chance at a podium finish. Moreover, since then, Max Verstappen has won every race, and Sergio Perez could not even get a podium. That is why some fans believe that it’s a matter of time before the talented Aussie Daniel Ricciardo would get his chance to drive the fastest Red Bull RB19 in the future Grand Prix race.

Daniel Ricciardo Finally Replacing Sergio Perez At Red Bull?

It seems Red Bull is planning to replace Sergio Perez as the second driver and give Daniel Ricciardo a golden opportunity to return to the GP event. Ricciardo came to the team as the reserve driver when the tension between Perez and Verstappen was building up. Hence, there was a need for change in the Red Bull camp. Moreover, the Aussie is a good friend of Max Verstappen, and he was also a part of Red Bull quite a few years back. Hence, Christian Horner and other management staff cannot get a better time to give the prodigal son a chance to get back to race in a Grand Prix. They need a driver to support Max Verstappen and solidify their lead in the constructor’s title. However, Sergio Perez is not able to help Red Bull for that cause. Red Bull’s technical director, Pierre Wache, also suggested that Perez is feeling comfortable with the car at present. But it gets difficult when suddenly, at a practice session or a GP, the driver loses the comfort level. That is something the team must work on at present.

Daniel Ricciardo came back to Red Bull from McLaren this year to return to the grid in F1. And while discussing his place in the team, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko mentioned, “Daniel Ricciardo will race in RB19 for three days at the Pirelli’s tire tests. That is after the British Grand Prix in the Silverstone.” Moreover, he critically hinted that the team would then evaluate where the Aussie is at the moment and if they can rely on him. It has been a while since Ricciardo got his chance to drive in the F1 grid. Although recently, Daniel Ricciardo said to Express Sport that he knows that he thrives under pressure. But he does not want to repeat his previous performances when he ended at P18 or even behind them.
