Meanwhile, in the coming season, the veteran will have an opportunity to leave an eternal mark in the history of the sport. Byron Scott, former Lakers coach, said that James will eventually get to a point wherein he will surpass the 40,000-point mark. Once he achieves that, there will be no one who would even come close to chasing that record in this lifetime. Scott explained his take and listed LeBron’s longevity as one of the many reasons behind his bold prediction.

LeBron has played 20 years in the NBA and has never really been fully hurt, and when he gets hurt, he comes right back,” Scott said. The former coach believes that the modern generation will never be able to match LeBron James’ longevity. While such predictions might be seen as bold, they are grounded in the undeniable reality of LeBron’s exceptional career. His longevity, versatility, and consistently high level of play have allowed him to accumulate points at an astonishing rate. What sets the veteran apart is not only his scoring ability but also his proficiency in other aspects of the game, such as rebounding, playmaking, and defense. If James gets to the 40k mark, it would help him earn the ultimate “GOAT” status.
