Ferrari Giving Max Verstappen \”The OFFER\” He Can\’t Refuse? Tom Coronel Claims The Dutchman Should Join The Scuderia

In 2016 young dutch driver Max Verstappen joined Red Bull racing just after a year of his debut with Torro Rosso. And in the past four years, it has proven to be a massively successful association. Max Verstappen is already securing two Formula One World Championships. Meanwhile, as per the current contract, Verstappen is to stay with Red Bull till 2028. And although the partnership between the driver and the team seems to be going strong, there are some rumors swirling around. According to those, he may be eyeing joining Ferrari in the foreseeable future.

Will Max Verstappen Join Ferrari In The Future?

Since 2015, Max Verstappen has been a solid part of Red Bull Racing. Not only that, he is bound to stay with the Milton Keyes team till the conclusion of the 2028 season. Verstappen received a big deal from Red Bull after winning his first F1 Championship in 2021. Verstappen\’s initial contract was extended by five years until 2023. However, the Dutchman was then provided with a much bigger responsibility. He also agreed to the terms and will now remain with the group through 2028. His compensation was also increased to match with competitor Lewis Hamilton\’s $53 Million yearly wage. The Dutchman is now bound for the highest salary in the current Formula One grid.

The Red Bull driver still has six seasons left on his deal. This means he has plenty of racing left in him. Verstappen already holds two championship titles. And given his potential, another 5 in the following six seasons won\’t be a huge concern. This means he can match the historically high number of Championship victories held by Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen\’s deal with Red Bull will end in 2028, and Tom Coronel thinks the two-time F1 World Champion could think about switching to Ferrari.

During a conversation, Tom Coronel spoke about the prospect of Verstappen going to Ferrari in the future. Coronel affirmed that Max would never race at Mercedes. \”There is such a blemish. I know the family (Verstappen) very well\”. Tom further added that for the family, straight is straight, and crooked is crooked, as there is no grey area with the Verstappen family. According to him, they lately had a suitable relationship with rival Toto Wolff. But the tables have turned and even moved since the 2021 season.

Tom Coronel believes that driving for the Italian team is a privilege. And not every driver receives a call from Maranello to pilot the racehorse. It\’s no secret that the majority of Formula One drivers fantasize about donning the renowned red overalls. But for different reasons, only a select handful are able to succeed. Even Lewis Hamilton, who has pledged his future to Mercedes, has already acknowledged his affection for Ferrari.
