A recent MLB top player list ranked Yankees captain Aaron Judge higher than Mike Trout, and the internet is not happy.

New York Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, made headlines last season after hitting record-breaking home runs. The slugger made history by clicking 62 home runs, the most ever scored in a single MLB season. Subsequently, Aaron was rewarded with a massive contract. The Bronx Bombers signed Judge for a nine-year contract worth $360 million and sealed him up as a forever Yankee.

Further, a remarkable season with the bat has earned Aaron Judge many rewards. After signing a humongous contract, Judge became the 16th captain of the organization and succeeded Derek Jeter. Later, the slugger received his first-ever AL-MVP award in a close voting contest. Meanwhile, Aaron featured in an elite list of players and received the second spot. However, the internet is not too pleasant.

Twitter Bemused After Aaron Judge Gets Higher Ranking Than Mike Trout

Recently, MLB Network released its annual list of the Top 10 players in the MLB league, and it caused quite an uproar on social media. The biggest point of controversy was the fact that New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was ranked higher than Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout. Trout, widely considered the best player in baseball and one of the greatest of all time, came in at number three on the list, a rank below Aaron Judge. Moreover, Shohei Ohtani remained on top with the number 1 ranking.

Meanwhile, Twitter reacted quickly to the rankings, with many fans and analysts expressing disbelief and frustration that Aaron Judge was ranked higher than Mike Trout. Multiple users stated that Trout is better than Judge on any given day, and this ranking does not make sense. A fan also expressed his resentment over the lack of east division players. Despite the controversy, it is worth noting that the MLB Network Top 10 list is subjective and based on the opinions of a group of analysts and former players.

Six Yankees Feature In MLB’s Top 100 Players List

While Aaron Judge received the second spot, as many as six New York Yankees players found a place in MLB Network’s Top 100 players list. Giancarlo Stanton ranked last, 100th, on the list, whereas relief pitcher Nestor Cortes featured at number 91. Furthermore, Yankee’s first baseman Anthony Rizzo ranked 74th on the top 100 player list with impressive numbers last season.

The dynamic pitching duo of the Bombers, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon, ranked 37th and 38th, respectively, on the list. While Cole had a terrific last season, Rodon, too, shined with the Giants. Interestingly, Rodon opted out of the two-year contract with the Giants and signed a massive six-year deal with the Yankees. The duo will likely lead the pitching rotation for the New York Yankees this upcoming MLB season.
