Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers have managed to do well in the absence of 29-year-old Anthony Davis. The nine-time NBA All-stars performance was the reason fans got excited to watch the Lakers. He did not just handle the Lakers when LeBron James took the sideline. The 2020 champ gave the LA fans hope their team would play in the postseason this year. But in mid-December, he suffered an injury that caused panic in the team and among the supporters.

The Lakers were in a vulnerable position when their beast Anthony Davis got injured. Everyone thought that the Lakers would be falling more than ever. But one of the greatest of all time, LeBron held the Lakers to lead them in adversity. The 38-year-old also had the help and energy of Russell Westbrook coming off the bench. Ever since the Lakers forward has taken over, they have been relentless.

The Lakers have won three in the last four games, finally losing to the Nuggets. LeBron missed the game due to his sore ankle. Without the 18-time All-star, the whole team got outclassed by the Nuggets. Meanwhile, the Lakers superstar Anthony is working something special out to return to the court as soon as possible.

Anthony Davis’ Recovery Report

The 29-year-old has now missed 13 games ever since his stress foot injury. The Lakers, in general, have been very unlucky when it comes to injuries in the locker room. Before his injury, Anthony Davis was putting some big numbers on the board. The former New Orleans power forward averaged 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.1 blocks per game. Meanwhile, Davis was also shooting 59.4% from the field. Many experts even brought him into the MVP conversation because of his massive contribution to the Lakers.

Since December 16th, the Lakers have had a 7-6 record in the games that Davis was absent. They are currently on the fringes of the playoff spots, required to qualify through the play-in tournament in the Western Conference. They are currently just 1.5 games behind the 6th seed. However, the Lakers will aim for the top 6 seed as that will allow a direct qualification in the playoffs. In the meantime, Anthony Davis will start with anti-gravity treadmills and underwater workouts for faster recovery. Nevertheless, his return remains a mystery for the fans, but it could take weeks, as suggested by Goon.

Meanwhile, ESPN gave the fans good news about Anthony Davis’ return which did not seem to excite the Lakers fans. Dave McMenamin suggested that the 29-year-old center will be back training with his teammate in two weeks. Rather than being happy about his return, Twitter had another way of putting things. One tweet said, “Just counting down until he gets hurt again.” It looks like the nine-time All-star will have to prove his worth on the court once he is back and healthy.
