As per the stats, the Los Angeles Lakers have not been able to win or reach the NBA Finals for the last three seasons. They would not even reached the conference finals last season if it were not for some crucial trades in the mid-season. Moreover, the activities of the front office before the February trade deadline brought balance and stability to the team’s roster. Then, an unbelievable leadership of Anthony Davis helped the LA side make the postseason. Finally, they managed to reach the Western Conference Finals, shocking everybody. Moreover, the front office of the Lakers has been looking to keep the core together. They managed to do that pretty successfully.

Hopefully, LeBron James and the Lakers will extend the contract for a few more seasons next year. But there is no doubt that he has reached the twilight of his career. Hence, the Lakers and AD will need more help from the other members of the roster. They traded Dennis Schroder and got Gabe Vincent in his place. But will this signing prove fruitful for the squad? People think it will.

According to Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley, Gabe Vincent has been the best new signing for the 17-time champions. He is among the costliest signings for the Lakers this offseason, along with Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D’Angelo Russell. After all, Vincent played for the Miami Heat last season, which reached the NBA Finals. The Lakers signed him for three years with a contract worth $33 million. Moreover, Vincent is a perfect two-way player and can play to his best abilities when it matters the most. He can be very useful alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as he has been alongside Jimmy Butler for the Heat.

As per Zach Buckley, Vincent has 44 games under his experienced belt. He proved that he could thrive under pressure last season. It won’t be surprising if the Lakers give him an opportunity in the starting lineup to replace D’Angelo Russell. In 68 games for the Heat, Gabe Vincent started in 34 bouts. Moreover, he had an average of 9.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 steals. Also, he is just 27 years old.

The Los Angeles Lakers will have Austin Reaves for four more years as they will have Rui Hachimura for three more years. Adding to that, D’Angelo Russell will also be part of the franchise for another couple of years. But then, will the Lakers extend their contracts further? It will be a matter of time. Moreover, the Lakers Nation is happy to know that Anthony Davis will be there for another three years for sure.

The eight-time All-Star would be eager to win one more title with the Lakers. That’s what the LA side expects from Anthony Davis and his side, even in the post-James era. But LeBron James will play for a few more years, hopefully. The King’s current contract expires after the end of the 2023-24 season.
