But the three games the LA side won before the Mavericks game, two of which were part of the in-season tournament. Hence, the Lakers may suffer because of inconsistency in the regular season as a whole.
But they have done pretty well in the in-season tournament. Who knows if the Lakers can go on to win the inaugural NBA Cup? And why not, as they have dominated the Group A of the Western Conference. Moreover, the Lakers have advanced to the in-season tournament playoffs. Hence, they are even closer to winning the in-season tournament. But things will get tougher in the playoffs. Most importantly, the question is if the Lakers can maintain their winning streak in the new tournament.
Can Lakers Win The In-Season Tournament?
As per the Game Day, the recent odds suggest the LA side can win the NBA Cup. The Game Day gave the Lakers the third-best odds. According to the Game Day, the LA franchise has plus – 600 odds to win the in-season tournament. The rule of these bets is that one can win $600 if he or she bets $100. At present, the Boston Celtics have the best odds at plus – 310. In Group C of the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are up 2-0 in the in-season tournament.
But overall, the Celtics are 11-2. On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks have the second-best odds to win the NBA Cup. Currently, they are 2-0, too in the in-season tournament. But the Bucks are leading the East Group B. Hence, they get the odds at plus – 475. Then, obviously, comes the Lakers with the third-best odds. But right behind the Lakers, there are the defending champions of the NBA League, the Denver Nuggets. The Game Day gives the Nuggets the fourth-best odds at plus – 800.
Other Teams With Good Odds To Win The Inaugural NBA Cup
On the other hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves are not far behind. They have improved vastly in recent times. Hence, the Timberwolves have the 5th best odds at plus – 950. But behind the Timberwolves, the Game Day saw that the Sacramento Kings have the sixth-best odds at plus – 1600.
But the rest of the NBA teams have the odds at or more than plus – 2000. It means the rest of the teams have a long shot to win the inaugural NBA Cup. But the most important thing is that the updates of the Game Day can change after a few games. Hence, the Lakers have a lot of competition to win the in-season tournament.
