LeBron James kicked off his NBA journey 20 years ago in 2003. Over the past two decades, James has achieved numerous milestones and established his legacy as one of the greats of the game. There is nothing left to achieve for the veteran at the moment. But his sheer passion for the sport is keeping him away from calling it quits.

King James has promised to return for his 21st NBA season after threatening retirement earlier this year. He will be representing the Los Angeles Lakers in the purple and gold for the 2023-24 NBA season. Having said that, there is a good chance James part ways with the Lakers at the end of next season to fulfill his last wish of his 20-year-old basketball journey.

Have you ever wondered what’s keeping LeBron James from retiring after serving 20 years in the NBA? We’ve got you covered. Earlier, James shared his last wish, which is to play alongside his eldest son, Bronny James, in his final NBA season. Bronny, a freshman at USC, will be eligible for the draft in the next season. The youngster recently suffered a health scare but recovered in time and will resume basketball activities soon. Having said that, LeBron, who remains in the final stretch of his career, will be looking to team up with his son next year. “My last year will be played with my son,” James told the Athletics.

Meanwhile, NBA writer Eric Jay Santos of Inside the Celtics recently made a bold prediction on LeBron James’ future. Eric said that the Celtics could choose to draft Bronny James next year to lure the senior James into Boston. That will strengthen the Celtics’ chances of a championship. As for LeBron, he is willing to make a move to whichever team his son lands at. However, Celtics is a long shot. The 38-year-old had previously expressed his displeasure towards the franchise. Moreover, the Lakers are considered a home for the NBA veteran. Also, James’ thoughts about playing with Bronny are constantly evolving. Somedays, he wished his son to have his own legacy and grow without his shadow. Hence, LeBron’s alleged move to the Boston Celtics seems a little too far-fetched for now.

A few weeks ago, LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James, suffered a cardiac arrest as he collapsed during USC’s practice session. The paramedics reacted swiftly to ensure his condition did not worsen. Bronny remained in the ICU for several hours before his condition improved eventually. LeBron and his family stayed with him throughout and provided him with all the necessary support. Thankfully, the 18-year-old was discharged in a few days.

Now, weeks later, the doctors have tracked the root cause of the sudden cardiac arrest. Apparently, Bronny James has something called a congenital heart defect, which caused the sudden collapse. Having said that, the USC freshman is expected to heal fully within this month, and the condition is unlikely to hamper his professional basketball career. Certainly, it came as a massive relief to LeBron James and family.
