Nestor Cortes of the New York Yankees has been a revelation this season, especially at home, as he continued his dominance in the Yankee Stadium on Wednesday in game 3 against the Seattle Mariners. Notably, with another scoreless start, Cortes lowered his ERA at home to 1.11. He has given up just five earned runs and five walks in six starts at home and struck out 41 hitters as well. However, Nestor Cortes has been equally a disaster on the road. In five away starts, the pitcher poses a 6.75 ERA, with 19 earned runs and 10 walks in 25.2 innings pitched. Nerveless, Cortes’ home record has been exceptional, and the Yankees will continue to count on him in the pinstripes. That being said, the Yanks will face the Mariners again on Thursday with the four-game series on the line. Prospect Luis Gil will be on the mound again to extend his terrific form.
