LeBron James and Steph Curry are two legends of NBA history. James is three years older than Curry. Both hail from Akron, Ohio. LeBron James started his NBA career back in 2003 after Cleveland Cavaliers picked him. The King was the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA draft. On the other hand, Steph Curry started his career back in 2009 after the Golden State Warriors picked him. Curry was the seventh overall pick of the 2009 NBA draft. From then on, the epic rivalry between Curry and James began. But in case of success, there are different categories to differentiate these two greats of the game.

In terms of success with the first team that picked them, Steph Curry beats LeBron James. The partnership between Curry and the Warriors had been immensely fruitful. He has won four NBA championships with the Warriors. But LeBron James won only one title with the Cavaliers after he came back to his hometown team. In the middle, he left Cleveland to join Miami Heat. James won two championships with the Heat.

Curry’s teammate, Draymond Green, feels James has a better record due to the factor of longevity. Green thinks people tend to forget that age matters after what James has been doing since he was 35. Now he is 38. But Curry, too, at 35, is averaging 29.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 6.3 assists, and 1.0 steals. Everybody knows how good Steph is at shooting 3-pointers. There is no sign of degradation in his quality. In fact, his current scoring average is his third-best career average. Draymond Green says that point guards with a better physique than Curry generally go on to play for a long time.

In 2023 both Curry and James are four-time champions. Whereas Curry with the same franchise but James with three different teams. After LeBron James joined the Lakers in 2018, he had to wait for a couple of years to win a championship. But he did win one with the Lakers in 2020. On the other hand, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are the defending champions in 2023.

Now in the case of individual accolades, James beat Curry. LeBron James has won 4 MVP awards and four MVPs in the final. On the other hand, Steph Curry has won 2 MVP awards and one MVP in the final. King James is a record 19-time All-Star, whereas Curry is a nine-time All-Star.

But what Steph Curry is doing at his age is just simply impressive. LeBron James is playing in his 20th NBA season. But Stephen Curry is also playing in his 14th NBA season. And that is not a matter of joke. When asked how long he wishes to play, Steph mentioned that initially, he wanted to play for as many years as his dad played in NBA. Curry’s dad played for 16 years. But the Warriors’ star also added that it would finally depend on how much his body can take.
