Apparently, the 34-year-old wanted the Dubs to put in conscious effort and show that they want him back badly. Steph Curry, who has been a pioneer of the franchise’s success alongside Klay, wanted to reinstate the trio of him, Klay, and Green. However, after the shooting guard’s request, he stepped aside and let the two parties involved make a collective decision by themselves. Eventually, things didn’t work out, and Klay Thompson not only had to leave the only NBA franchise that he has been a part of all his life but also broke apart from his brother cum teammate Steph Curry. That will be the end of the Splash Brothers and potentially the end of the Warriors dynasty.
Steph Curry Wishes Klay Thompson A Great Future At Mavericks
Steph Curry posted a heartfelt tribute for Klay Thompson on his Instagram after the veteran’s off-season move was confirmed this week. After a series of photos, Curry wrote a message wherein he stated that he would miss Klay dearly at Chase Centre. While their journey came to an end, what they together achieved in Dubs won’t be recreated ever, added Curry.
Not only that, Steph Curry urged Klay Thompson to enjoy playing basketball and affirmed that they will always be Splash Brothers for life. That being said, Thompson will head to Dallas next to play for defending Western Conference champions, Mavericks. A sign-and-trade deal involving three teams is still pending approval and after that an official announcement is likely.
