After a remarkable 2022 season where Aaron Judge set a new MLB record with 62 home runs, the question on every fan’s mind is whether he can surpass the 60-home run mark again. Judge surpassed Roger Maris to slam most long hits in a single season in 2022 and won the AL-MVP award for the same.

This year, Aaron Judge’s trajectory has been remotely similar to that of 2022. He is already halfway through the 62 home run record, and it’s not even mid-July yet. Meanwhile, FanDuel studied the Yankees captain’s season so far and determined the odds of Aaron Judge recreating the iconic moment once again in 2024.

Aaron Judge has consistently demonstrated extraordinary power at the plate. His physical stature, combined with his technical prowess, makes him a constant home run threat. Judge’s ability to hit the ball hard and far is unmatched, and his plate discipline allows him to make the most of his at-bats. In 2022, Judge not only surpassed the 62-home run milestone but did so with a batting average above .300, showcasing his overall hitting ability. This year, as well, Judge has maintained an average above .300 and has already crossed the halfway market of 31 home runs on Tuesday against the Reds. Hence, Judge is the closest he has been to recreating his all-time high home run record, and FansDuel agrees.

FanDuel gave Aaron Judge +400 odds to hit 63 or more home runs by the end of the year. However, one of the critical factors determining whether Judge can surpass 60 home runs again is his health. In previous seasons, injuries have limited his playing time. However, in his record-setting 2022 season, Judge managed to stay relatively healthy, playing in 157 games. Maintaining his health and staying injury-free will be crucial for Judge to have enough opportunities to reach the milestone once again in two years. Additionally, the composition of the Yankees’ lineup also plays a significant role in Judge’s home run potential. Having strong hitters like Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton around him ensures that pitchers cannot easily pitch around Judge. The bottom line is that while surpassing the home run record is an incredibly challenging feat, Aaron Judge has the tools to achieve it again.
