As the New York Yankees wrapped up the MLB season early this year, captain Aaron Judge has been making the most of it. He is taking some time off to shed the disappointment of the 2023 season debacle. The slugger does not intend to carry any baggage into 2024, as the Bronx Bombers will aim to fall back into the World Series contention.

Meanwhile, Aaron Judge was handed MLB’s Roberto Clemente Award for character, community involvement, and philanthropy. The honor is awarded to a player who gives back to the community with excellent philanthropic work. At the event, Judge marked his presence and spoke about the off-season changes the Yankees are mulling ahead of crucial winter.

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge collected his Roberto Clemente Award on Monday. The event marked the presence of former Yankee legend Derek Jeter, among many others. Judge took the opportunity to speak about the Bronx Bombers’ off-season plans. The captain had already confirmed earlier that changes will be coming in 2024. He once again echoed the same sentiment while adding that changes could come in all different areas. From philosophies to players to coaches, everything will come under review. Judge said that the Yanks have not had a big dance in a while, and to change that narrative, the front office needs to do a lot of work.

Aaron Judge further added that with the World Series still going on, it’s tough for the front office to start working towards those changes. But once the dust settles and the off-season formally kicks in, the fans will have a clearer picture. “I think that’s when we’re going to start seeing some bigger moves,” said Judge. Having said that, the Yankees captain will have a much bigger role to play this winter. He has got a seat at the front office table to discuss issues related to roster construction. But as far leadership is concerned, Judge will give it a pass as he believes it’s not his job. Nonetheless, the slugger will carry a chip on his shoulder in 2024. He needs to encourage the Yankees to make the right decisions during the off-season to start fresh in 2024.
