Stephen Curry has established himself as the greatest shooter in the NBA history. He has scored the most points from the three-point range in the history of the game. Moreover, the skinny kid from Akron, Ohio, proved the naysayers wrong as he helped the Golden State Warriors become a modern-day dynasty. Not just one but four titles are what the Dubs won in a span of eight years, from 2015 to 2022. Moreover, the three-point King became the face of the Dubs Dynasty. Along with Steph, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green played very important roles to build the dynasty.
And also credit should go to the head coach, Steve Kerr as well. However, the latest season saw the Dubs dynasty having not their best of seasons. Thompson and Green struggled with their performance and consistency. It became very difficult for the talisman of the Warriors to lead the team to the postseason. But the GSW did make it to the play-in tournament. However, that was it. The Sacramento Kings knocked them out and they couldn’t make the playoffs. Now, Stephen Curry is keeping himself busy with his other passion, which is Golf.
Stephen Curry Will Soon Receive A Prestigious Golf Award
Recently, Stephen Curry began the Underrated Golf Tour. There is an official website of the tour that states, “The Underrated tour is a purpose-driven endeavor related to business.” Moreover, the overarching commitment of the tour is to provide access, equity, and opportunities to student-athletes from every community. This Golf tour aims to balance participation in the game “To truly reflect our society.” Lately, the Underrated golf tour shared with Inside the Warriors a recent release that states Stephen Curry will receive the Charlie Sifford Award soon. It is a way to acknowledge the work that Steph is doing through the Underrated tour.
The release states for his commitment to equity, access, and opportunities to student-athletes from every community through this tour, Curry will receive the award on June 10, 2024. It will happen during the 124th US Open in Pinehurst, N.C., at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club. Moreover, the three-point King deserves to add this award to his trophy case. He continues to prove that he is a great ambassador of both sports – basketball and golf. One of the all-time greats in the NBA, Curry, continues to engage himself in some initiative to have impact even outside the basketball court. That’s what his passion of golf helps him to do.
The Warriors Talisman Will Look To Comeback Next Season With A Bang
After the campaign came to an end for the Warriors in the 2023-2024 season, the NBA announced that the Clutch Player of the Year award goes to none other than Steph Curry. During an interview with TNT’s Inside the NBA show, Steph said he would follow the playoffs from home and hope to learn what they need to do to get back in that position.
Clearly, Stephen Curry is still not giving up on winning another NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors. But to get back to that position, the Dubs will have to make some tough calls. Only time will say if they can win another title. Moreover, if they do, will it be with the same core of the tripod?
