Juan Soto had an impressive start to the 2024 season as he joined the New York Yankees last offseason. He signed with the NY side for a year, considering his free agency next offseason. Clearly, the Dominican superstar will be the biggest name available during the next offseason in the free-agent market. There are rumors that he might break the $700 million record deal of Shohei Ohtani. Moreover, the way he has been playing in the 2024 season, he is proving that he is a contender for winning the AL MVP. On top of that, Juan Soto is enjoying a growing fan base in the Bronx.

If the best hitter in baseball can help the Pinstripes reach the “Big Dance” this ongoing season, then the front office can go all-in at the free-agent market after this season. But that’s still a long way to go. Meanwhile, the former San Diego Padres outfielder just completed his first month as a Yankee in the regular season. Due to his explosive hitting, the NY side has enjoyed a pretty good momentum so far. Not only the fans but his teammates as well have appreciated the great impact of the Dominican slugger on the team.

Both Soto and Stroman joined the Yankees in the offseason ahead of the 2024 season. It has been only a month in the regular season, however, already these two players have made their mark as a Yankee. According to The Athletic, Marcus Stroman told Brendan Kuty that the Dominican slugger is a “Once in a generation talent.” Moreover, Stroman joked about wondering how Soto is just 25 years old. Finally, Stroman told Kuty that he really believes that the new superstar in the Bronx will go down in history as one of the best hitters ever. Moreover, Juan Soto has said many times that he feels at home in the Bronx because of the big Dominican diaspora.

But after his first month in the 2024 regular season as a Yankee, he has become a household name in New York. Last season as a member of the Padres, Soto hit 35 homers, that was his career high. However, the Dominican slugger took his game to another gear as he already hit 7 home runs in the first month of the 2024 regular season. Something about Soto and the Yankees just clicked really well. After the first 29 regular season games as a Yankee, Juan Soto has slashed .318/.434/.564. Moreover, Soto is currently leading the league in RBIs (24) and walks (24).

Last weekend, Juan Soto recorded his 800th hit against the Milwaukee Brewers in his career so far. His talent deserves attention from everybody, not just his teammates. Lately, Brian Cashman mentioned, as per MLB.com, that Soto has been great. Moreover, the General Manager of the Bronx Bombers said it is not new information that he is a Future Hall Of Fame type player.

Not many players can get in the same category. Adding to that, Cashman said, “He’s one of a kind that way.” If the Dominican superstar holds on to this momentum throughout the long season, he can be worthy of something really close to Shohei Ohtani’s $700 million deal in November.
