The New York Yankees are ready to take some strict action in the offseason. They want to have a productive free agency. Moreover, the front office is looking to bring significant changes to the organization. Clearly, they needed change after how the team has played in the last few seasons. The Bronx Bombers failed to make the postseason in 2023. It was a tremendous shame for the organization and the fans, too.

The last time they could not qualify for the playoffs was back in 2016. Hence, the NY side needs to have a great offseason. But before moving on to signing free agents, the Bronx Bombers would also like to make a decision on their outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. There is no doubt about the immense talent that Stanton possesses. But this outfielder has become very injury-prone in recent times.

Stanton has played for the New York Yankees in six seasons so far. In three years of his six seasons, he has missed over 50 games. Hence, the NY side is preparing for the time he will miss next season. Anyhow, in an interview with the New York Daily News, Brian Cashman told Gary Philips that the Yankees are trying to limit the time Stanton will be down. Cashman added that he doesn’t believe Stanton will play every game next season. Clearly, the Yankees GM is upset with Stanton being too injury-prone. Due to his fragile physique, Giancarlo Stanton is not able to play the role that the organization initially wanted him to play.

Moreover, Brian Cashman believes that Stanton will find ways to get hurt again because it has become a part of his game. Despite his harsh criticism of Stanton, Cashman said no matter what, he’s a great hitter and has been for a long time when he’s right and healthy. This year was rough as Stanton hit .191 with 24 home runs, 60 RBI and 43 runs across 101 games. Hence, the Yankees have to think it through before deciding on Giancarlo Stanton’s future. Anyway, the 34-year-old outfielder has been an integral part of the Bronx Bombers in the last few years.

Moreover, the NY side must repair the lineup around the captain Aaron Judge. Hence, the Yankees are also thinking about a reunion with Jordan Montgomery. Moreover, they traded him to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2022. He had a great 2023 season at first with the Cardinals and later with Texas Rangers. The Cardinals traded Montgomery to the Rangers during the trade deadline. In the process, he earned a World Series as the Texas Rangers won the 2023 World Series. Hence, the Bronx Bombers have a lot of options in the offseason.

Moreover, the NY side finished the season 82-80. That’s how horrible the last season has been for the Yankees. Hence, they are looking at reinforcements available in the market. Some superstar free agents are making headlines as potential trade targets for the NY side. The Yankees have close eyes on lefty outfielders like Juan Soto and Cody Bellinger. They also want quality pitchers who may be international free agents like Yoshinobu Yamamoto and others.
