LeBron James has started his 21st-season campaign in the NBA on a great note. Clearly, he is eager to finish his career with a bang and might not end at the end of this season. But he will be 39 as the current season ends. The King would like some sort of motivation to return for the 2024-25 season. Anyway, the all-time scoring leader wants to play alongside his son Bronny before he bids farewell to the game of basketball.
Certainly, he’s a future Hall of Famer and might also have the Lakers retire his jersey number. However, before he gets to that stage, LeBron James wants to win his 5th championship ring. But an old foe of LeBron James has warned him again ahead of the Lakers-Rockets Matchup. Last season, Dillon Brooks, who previously played for the Memphis Grizzlies, trolled LeBron James ahead of their Round 1 clash. Later, the Lakers blew the Grizzlies away, and LeBron James trolled Brooks back. Moreover, Brooks became the most hated player in the NBA last season. However, it seems like he has not learned his lesson.
Dillon Brooks Poked The Bear Yet Again
Currently, Brooks is playing for the Rockets and averages 16.3 points along with 4.7 rebounds after six regular season games so far. Lately, the Rockets beat the Sacramento Kings. On the other hand, the Lakers are coming from digesting a one-point loss against the Miami Heat. Hence, an intriguing clash awaits between the Lakers and Rockets, as well as LeBron James and Dillon Brooks.

Dillion Brooks told the reporters after Tuesday’s practice that he’ll shut LBJ down in their next encounter. He believes he can lock James up. Brooks knows that LeBron James is shooting the ball well. Hence, he feels all he needs to do is to make James tired and get him to 4th quarter early. Let’s see what happens after Brooks poked the bear yet again. Moreover, the Lakers have some new updates about their lineup against the Rockets. As per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Rui Hachimura is probable for that game. But the other forward, Anthony Davis, and center, Jaxson Hayes, are questionable for that game.
Can The Lakers Do It For LeBron James This Season?
Last time, they reached the Western Conference Finals. But the Denver Nuggets badly humiliated them. The fans thought this new season would be different. But the LA side had a pretty awful start to the regular season. Not only did they lose four and win three out of the first seven games, but they’ve also had multiple injury issues already. Now, many fans are wondering, “What’s the point of having a great offseason, maintaining balance and depth in the roster?”
Even with depth and balance, the luck for the LA Lakers is not changing. However, James and Anthony Davis have been on song since the preseason. Albeit, Anthony Davis may go on to miss many games as he sustained a hip injury during the game against the Miami Heat. Hence, at this moment, LeBron James needs to single-handedly lead the side again without AD. The Lakers will meet the Houston Rockets today.
